Pass MA Inspection w/ EDC Fault?
Hey Guys,
Did some quick googling and combing the forums, but wasn't able to find someone in my exact situation. Curious if anyone has any concrete answers (I called Herb Chambers BMW service department and they weren't sure either, but thought I wouldn't pass). Just the other day got an EDC warning and the fault code "5FE6". Haven't been able to diagnose the exact issue yet (whether it's a loose wire, or will require a full suspension replacement). In any case, I'm late for my state inspection sticker so I was hoping to get it renewed this weekend before tackling the suspension issue. I'm wondering whether it will pass inspection. There is no CEL on, which makes me think I should be good. My understanding is that with this fault code the car puts itself in the firmest EDC suspension setting until it's resolved, so driving safety shouldn't really be impacted. With that in mind, I feel as though this shouldn't be a concern for state inspections, but I'm probably wrong knowing how strict MA is. Anyone hear of a similar issue or might now if I'd pass? Thanks! Dave |
