because they can...
why do people tend to question why someone would spend a certain amount of money? if they want to spend it then who are we to question them? look at the folks who chose to do the Lotus Exo Experience. They spend $1,000,000 for the day... i might say, "wow, why so expensive? (like saying what included)" vs "wow, why would you spend that amount of money? (like saying you could've spent your money elsewhere for better things)." do you see what i mean? there's two ways to ask someone something without it becoming a matter of perception or being misconstrued as a condescending tone. juss sayin.

Right I know what you're saying But, to me, it would have made more sense to do that on a 1M rather than a 135i. Then again, doing this to a 1M would have possibly cost more $. I don't see why no one has done a completely CF M3...

What would the advantages of doing it on a 1M have been? If they have money for that they probably have enough money to slap some coilovers, all the m3 control arms and suspension components and an LSD and you'd be set.

Maybe 1M wasnt even out when he bought that 135? If I had 135i, I'd love to make replica of that car. Saw that car on eurotuner and my jaw dropped to the floor. Only 2500lbs...wheww!! Must feel amazing driving that thing around. |

The only differences between the 135 and 1M are a few body panels, the M3 suspension components, LSD and that's basically it. Still the n54 w/ a slight power bump. But with a tune you can far surpass that hp/tq mark.

I personally never cared much for the 1M (not cause I Don't like it, but because it was never anything 'special' in my eyes, so I didn't care to learn/read up too much on it), so my info on it is less than reliable. But I thought that, in order to get the power bump, they did more than just add LSD and m3 suspension parts (not talking about the cosmetic parts). If I'm wrong, then oopsies :P But you guys ignored my question as to why hasn't there been a completely CF M3 yet.. (or if there has.... then I haven't seen it)

Yup if every single piece of that car is CF then they would have had to make a mold prototype and mold first. Prototype I would estimate would be anywhere from 300-2k depending on the piece since they would just need the OEM one and modify it if they wanted it bigger or smaller then each mold would around 3-5k.
Learned that from the CF company in Long Beach that is making all the 1M parts right now. They said they had a race team interested in CF doors, but they would have to provide the doors then pay about 8k on top of that to make a mold and the first 2 doors. And yeah Sean, no real engine differences on the 1M and 2008-2010 135i/335i. People originally speculated that it had bigger turbo's but then people ran the part #'s and they ended up being the same. Terry said all they did was up the boost really to make more HP like they do with the 35is. So it has a wide body, LSD, m3 suspension and some other various aerodynamic tweaks but nothing else engine wise except maybe a stronger clutch / tranny(not 100% sure tho). You should request a pole at the next LBTMW meet and replicate the gif to make your performance better than last time! (With clothes on of course.)
