E92 Seat Belt Butler arm removal

Does anyone know the trick to getting the butler extender disconnected so I can remove it from the door card?

I am swapping black to FR interior, and on the last leg. I am replacing the rear door cards, but the rear door card I bought didn't come with the butler, so I need to remove the butlers from my car to the FR door cards but this clip is a real PIA.

Any ideas?

I pushed it down hard as hell and pulled but it doesn't appear to work.

How far he's able to extend it looks different as well, mine only slides out an inch if that.

I was able to get the whole extender arm out through the opening itself without taking it apart or detaching it.

If you turn it at a certain angle carefully there is no need to take it apart.
