Cut on sidewall

I hit a pothole and have this cut on my sidewall. Do you guys think I need to replace the tire? it appears to be only cosmetic and no air is leaking so far.

I believe the integrity of your performance tire has been compromised. It's hard to see from the photo, but it appears to be more than cosmetics. Take it to the dealer and have them check it out for you.

Peronally if my family rides in my car with me and I travel over 50 mph, I would most probably replace it.

Post another pic from a couple of feet away.

You could drive it like that for a short while..but I agree if you want to be safe, I would look to change that tire.

thanks...yea..i hope so. it really looks only cosmetic and after i glued it its not even noticable anymore. if i needed to replace the tire, i would have to replace all 4 or 2 ....as it looks like the dunlop wintersports 235/40/18 are out of stock for the season.. so i hope it will last the winter

I would say that you are fine. BUT, if you can, I would still replace it, "better safe than sorry".

I had the same on my 550 and brought o the attention to my dealer and tire guy. I was told by both that it will not harm the performance. I had tire insurance so they had no loss to say yes. I am good friends with my dealer and my tire guy.
