Hey everyone, ran into a problem when we painted the turn signal housing. We painted the inside of the housing, and when we tried reattaching it to the backing, the backing scratched the paint up. Being that damaged the housing and you can't buy the housing separately from the entire headlight unit, I had to pay $1,100 to buy two used headlight units so I can paint the OUTSIDE of the turn signal housings. They're being painted today, and I should have the entire assembly reassembled by Monday of next week. Sorry the delay in pics, but I'm working on it.
That wire to the LED that you see in my original picture is inside the headlight unit. So no, it's not possible without baking the entire headlight open. |

Can't wait to see the black housing... I have been waiting for this for so long! Thanks for taking the leap!! Are you taking pictures as you do this for a possible future DIY?

Another update:
What started out as painting just the reflector housing has now turned into five different mods: 1. Paint turn signal housing dark blue (with light behind it, it's very striking) 2. Paint chrome housing around both headlights and high beams matte black 3. Install 12000k HID halos 4. Install 12000k D1S headlights 5. Remove orange LED bulb My poor car looking like Frankenstein's monster w/ the HID halos installed I'll take pictures when I put everything back together. |

Still don't have my car back, I'll be coming down to get that LED delete ASAP. What do you recommend for removing the amber turn signal bulb? |

You simply turn the turn signal bulb's socket and it pulls out. Sadly there won't be a white or blue replacement for a few months (JLeviSW is developing it). If you meant the orange LED, you pry it off then sand down the dried glue beneath it.

I'll be waiting patiently for the bulb JLeviSW is developing. I just want a clear bulb that blinks amber so as to be low key, but is clear.

Here we are with the final, corrected version of the front turn signal housing. Once JLeviSW releases a white LED bulb, it'll look incredible:
After I sprayed the piece of metal the orange LED was attached to black, the hole is basically invisible now: |

I've delayed because I'm sick/moving to a new apt./putting my car back together/producing my own line of diffusers/detailing cars/school/making my woman happy. No worries though, the headlight is back together and it looks really evil. Pics will be up late tonight or tomorrow.
