First mod for your M3 (planned or already done, even if you don't have an M3 yet)?
Not counting minor and more basic stuff like clear bra and tints. I'm talking first somewhat major mod $1k+.
I know many here including those that don't even have their cars yet are maintaining some kind of mod list whether it's on paper or etched in your brain. So what's most important to you to warrant doing it first?

Oops...only $300.00 but my first was the JLevi trunk lip (spoiler) for my convertible....very similar to what comes on the coupe.
Next will be exhaust - I really need to hear some of them in person 1st though as I don't want to "guess" at the sound I'm going to end up with.

First mod was painted reflectors. Although, I bought a Blinder M45 for it before I took delivery, but it still hasn't been installed.

Not for anything, but I wouldn't go so far as saying that clear bra and tint are minor or basic stuff. I don't know of many guys on this forum that got away with doing a quality clear bra of tint for less than $1000.00.

The only reason I don't consider clear bras as a real mod is because it's neither for performance nor looks since it's meant to be "invisible" and many dealers offer to do it even before you drive the car home. And while I agree a quality clear-bra application can cost $1k give or take, if anyone is spending $1k on tints alone then I have some ultra-premium blinker fluid I would like to sell them

My eisenmann exhaust was the first major mod after the other little things like clear bra, tint, reflectors, grill, etc. All of my other mods came pretty fast after though.

Not surprising, but very interesting how exhaust mods has dominated this poll by such a lopsided margin. I mean, it's not that the stock exhaust sounds bad, it actually sounds very good. And it's not exactly too quiet... ok well maybe quiet from the driver's seat with the windows up, but the stock exhaust certainly sounds loud and menacing from the perspective of a pedestrian.

Very first mod was painted reflectors. I almost don't consider it a mod. Its returning the car back to its unmolested and original design intent. DOT amber reflectors are tyranny!

I added the Euro light switch which give me rear fog lights. It's been about 70% effective in getting tailgaters off my ass.
