Hi David! 991 is great. Still getting used to it. The M3 was just so easy to drive on the track--very predictable and confidence-inspiring. The 991, while much improved over earlier generations of the 911, is still a bit tricky. It's a very different dynamic. 95% of the time the answer is 'throttle, throttle, throttle' when you start to get out of shape. But I think over time it will be the more rewarding car. It just shoots out of corners like a rocket. And, at 500lbs lighter, its agility and nimbleness are outstanding. I do miss the grunt and roar of the M3, though...

This is my favorite pics from The Circuit of the Americas. My E92 M3 was struggling to keep up with the Porsche 918 Spyder and 991 GT3.

Yep - 918's have no problems getting instructors...no love for the M3 though!

Even remotely keeping up with a 991GT3 and particularly a 918 is quite an accomplishment.

Yes it was just remotely. Maybe for just a few corners? I was 4 sec slower than my instructor friend's 991 GT3.

5'6", but I have my seat all the way down. Makes for better center of gravity. Hehe!

I have mine all the way down also but was still close in headroom until I took out the headliner and sunroof.
