I have driven several cars from BMW's line up, NA 6-cylinder E46s, Twin-Turbo'd N54, Overboosted 335is, and my current S65 V8.
However, the first vehicle that I drove that sold me/reeled me into BMW was actually an M235i (N55) So to say the M2 (N55 or S55) would be a disappointment is not probable/something had to be off with the car, or the experience. |

My e92 has been parked in the garage for most of the time since m2 joined the stable. I agree the finish is not the high end but it is adorable for the price. E92 interior is definitely outdated to the f87 though.

I have a LCI M2, I currently have it for sale. Something about the car doesn't connect with me. Probably one of the funniest cars I've driven but I feel very disconnected with it. I drove a e90 m3 a few years back. Once the m2 is sold I'll be moving into a e90/92 m3. A wise man once told me "there is no replacement for displacement."

Probably not the biggest V8 but definitely the one I want!

The car feels as big as the E92 but not much power so I didn't like it. My E36 Euro 3.2 felt faster being about 200kg lighter.

I have an OG M2 LCI & E92 M3 - love them both. The M2 is a lot fun - but did take a bit of help to get there. I could see the stock form being underwhelming for some. Ohlins R&T, Essex AP Racing BBK, upgrades to the engine & cooling, some sticky tires and the thing is a little beast. Both just an absolute blast to track. Actually enjoy the M2 on the street more but that's due to it being a 6spd and the M3 a dct. Power curve better for the street as well.
I think the interior is a bit of a trade off - M2 is more up to date looking - but the M3 is definitely nicer for its time. After the M2 starts getting dated the E92 M3 will withstand time better imo. Especially when said M3 has no nav. The seats on on the OG M2 are really comfy - but the leather is pretty awful. TL,DR - my E92 M3 has my heart but my OG M2 is not far behind

I drove an OG M2 prior to my E92 M3 search. For me the M2 was a blast to drive, but as others have said there was no way I was dropping that kind of money over a perfect low mile M3.
I found one with 19K on the clock and could not be happier. Added bonus, the car was supercharged.
