What are the funniest compliments you have gotten about your car

Went to the restaurant with a few of my co-workers last Friday. The restaurant was packed, the valet had to park my car literally right outside the front door. It's such a special treatment that it made me really happy the entire time.

Anyway, I've always kept a low profile at work and not many people know I drive an M3. When we left the restaurant one of my coworker who didn't know saw the car and jokingly asked "Hey nice car, is that your car" while laughing away.

I calmly said yea. He laughed "You're joking right, aren't you". I told him again yea it's my car but he wouldn't believe me "You're not serious right hahahah. One day man, one day".

I smiled, said nothing and we walked to the valet. 5 mins later the valet brought my car out and my coworker's jaw just drop. "Holy shit you weren't joking, you drive an M3!!". The look on his face was priceless!

After a year with the car, it's good to be remind what a special machine the M3 is.

"Did you modify the front end?"
"Is the front bumper stock?"

Some see an M badge on a BMW sedan and automatically think M5, again owing to the fact that most don't know of the existence of a 4-door M3.
I've had more than one female friend ask:
"You have an M5, right?"

last month while having lunch at a food truck. Dude pulled up in 335i
335i guy: is that a M3 body kit on a 335i and you switched the badge?
Me: No, it's actually a M3.
335i: Wow, didn't know they made the M3 in sedan or else I would have bought one.
Me: Yup, they've been making the E90 M3 since 2008.
335i: Man, the salesman lied to me when I bought my 335i. Told me they didn't make M3's in 4 doors.
Me: I simply shrugged my shoulders and said later.

I work in a school and I was walking down the hall behind a group of 4 or 5 students when one of them mentioned "the sweet ass black BMW" that's always parked outside. He wanted to know who owned it. Another kid described me and said he thought it was mine. Just then, they realized I was behind them so I took them outside and let them sit in it and start it up. I was a celebrity that day.

Had many compliments, the best ones are from the little old ladies which you would never expect them to compliment you on a car.

Yesterday my fiance looked outside the windows and thought "damn nice car". At which she realized that it was our car.

My favorite was at a gas station, I was just standing by the car while waiting to fill up. The guy next to me was trying to be very casual as he checked out the car but it was obvious to me... He walked to the back of the car, then to the front, then to back again, looked at it up and down and all around. He never said anything and was trying to be very under the radar but I could tell.

First 6 months of ownership I had 2 guys in a work truck ask me how much I paid for my car. I told them 70k and they were like "GOD DAMN THATS ALOT OF MONEY, GOT DAMN!!! DAMN!!!!"
