1/4 Mile Times on a VF620 or ESS 625

Hi folks,

What sort of 1/4 mile times should I expect on my VF620 E93? It's a DCT with the GTS software. The car also has I haven't had time to take it to the drag strip yet. I know someone's bound to say it depends on track prep, temp, etc. But in ideal conditions should I expect mid 11s? Is that a reasonable expectation?

Car Info:
VF620
GTS DCT software
Turner test pipes
MPE exhaust
Michelin PSS

I'd say more like high 11's to low 12's. With a professional driver you MIGHT get into the low-mid 11's.

Say What? My dam near stock car (stage 1 tune, dinan intake/pulley) did 12.4 on 265 PS2 in MDM mode on a shit track, im adding Akra/stage 2 tune next weekend and i bet the car will go into the high 12.20's on 275 PSS and low 12's on drag radials.

Traction with the PSS's will be your biggest hurdle. Best I've managed on streets was a 12.11@122. My R888's just arrived, hoping to crack into the mid 11's with a 6sp man when those are mounted.

haha it's all about getting off the line! traction is the biggest issue. and if you aren't hooking up, a S/C M3 will lose to a N/A M3.

And it's happened before with a good driver vs a shitty driver. Our very own DLSJ5 pulled an 11.88 @ 118 mph in his then exhaust + tune M3. He ran again a Gintani Stg 2 S/C M3 owned by a banned member who runs another forum and DLSJ5 won despite being down 10mph on the trap. There's a vid of it too

11.8 with a FBO M3 is seriously impressive, and clearly shows who the better driver was. I no for damn sure a FBO DCT M3 will not beat my M3 dig or roll.. Who had a better 60' on that pass?

Not sure but DLSJ5 could have the slip. He did show me the vid as well from the viewpoint of someone in the stands. It was at Sacramento before the timing light change and even Drew will admit the trap there were higher than what would happen today.

It's all about traction off the line, which is difficult with an M3, let alone one that had an extra 200+ HP. But I agree that no FBO M3 - even one that hooks well - should be able to build a large enough gap that you or I couldn't overcome in a 1/4 mile race. In this case, the M3 Gintani S/C driver was just poor. There is also a vid that same day of him attemping a burnout

I guess the tires weren't Sticky enough ... how ironic.

Thanks fellas. Guess I'll shoot for 11's with mid 11's in mind. I have tons of tread left on the PSS's so I'm not in too much of a hurry to swap out the tires just yet.

For about $1200 you can get a rear set of lite weight rims and Nitto 555r, thats what im going to do, you should to.
You got that bad ass ride and if you dont have some stickier tires youll probably look silly at the track.
If you look at those^ times ALL the fast runs where with sticky drag radials.
And they will probably be worth over half that money 3 years from now.

You will have plenty of traction on the PSS2 tires and your E93 on a prepped track. Most guys commenting have E92's and wouldn't know.

keep launch control around 4K-4500k and it should go nicely. you might need to have the GTS software recoded to adjust launch control to 4500 though. I believe its preset at 3500 with 500+/- adjustment.

PSS will do "OK" but I would wager using LC will just spin them to oblivion. As others have said, investing in decent tires makes the difference.

Here's how the days will pan out:
Day 1- XXX time on PSS "damn, I wonder what sticky tires would do"
Day 2- XXX time on PSS "damn, maybe I should get better tires, I wonder what the car can really do"
Day 3- XXX time on Nitto/R888/AD08 "damn, I should have bought these sooner"

The biggest disappointment is it being 90 degrees, on 20in hankook Ventus V12's. Those were really shitty times.
