EOI: MY2011 E90 M3 Jerez Black DCT

Hi all,

Looking at few changes happening at the moment (getting married, growing my business, etc.) and it might mean I need to move the M3. Not something I want to do, as I bought a great one and sorted everything to make it pretty much perfect, but that's life!

Bought it May 2018 from a dealer, had 96xxx on it and now just shy of 104000kms.

It's a terrific specification, Jerez Black over Bamboo Beige interior, sunroof, carbon leather trim, HK audio, M Drive, EDC, heated seats and rear blinds. Had the blacked out grills, carbon fibre lip spoiler and carbon splitters at the front.

As a MY2011 it features Bluetooth audio streaming, plus the CIC Navigation has been updated with the latest maps I could get my hands on (2018).

In the time I've had it, I've done both the rod bearings and a full DCT service at SouthernBM. They also recently fitted an Eisenmann Race exhaust which sounds unbelievable.

I've also added a CarPlay/Android Auto interface to the factory iDrive system.

It's in great condition, with no dents or scratches, and the interior is in great shape too. Tyres were replaced with original-spec Continentals about 2000km ago, and the original 220M 19-inch rims are unmarked.

Just about to add more (Victorian) rego to it. Plates will be replaced with standard Vic plates for sale.

Beautiful E90 M3. Good luck with the sale!
I was just wondering how you got Car Play / Android Auto on the screen? Does it require a screen replacement? Any info would be appreciated.

These CarPlay interfaces are available on AliExpress. Connects to the factory display and iDrive controller, and lets you switch between original iDrive and CarPlay/AA. All controlled with the iDrive controller, can change tracks with the steering wheel controls too.

Decided I couldn't give up the M3, so I sold off my old work car and picked up a new Ford Everest. Pretty solid garage for the foreseeable future

Looks like they are a colour matched set in that light. Good call with keeping the M3!

Sort of, the last software update I got has improved the connection reliability, though it's not perfect.

The sound quality is a hardware issue that will never be solved, so I get around it by streaming audio over the factory BMW Bluetooth while displaying CarPlay. Only downside to this is the nav instructions don't come through.

mmm I see! I am avoiding those systems as a result. I am looking to use a music streaming dongle. Lets see how it goes!

The audio issues are with the particular wireless one I got, a revised wireless one is coming and the wired ones are fine.

While it has issues, I have no regrets, it’s an awesome addition to the car, way better than a Bluetooth dongle.
