Nice!

SCM always has lots of GTR's usually overpriced.

Any power mods for the future? Maybe a midpipe and a tune

Yes the Hyundai Sonata has better design. Look at the photos. If you think the M3 is better in interior design you need to get your eyes checked.

Materials aside, the design on many cars interior is much better than the m3, some cars are even worse. I actually can see where she is coming from. The girl doesnt know what carbon fiber is or carbon stamped leather. Come on. Most people dont. I think the S class Mercedes is awful. Our BMW M3 is pretty damn plain. Look at the center console vs the New 6 series and new 3 series. Cover it in leather and it makes it better? I think not. If I cover my entire interior in gold leaf, that doesnt make it better. I actually think the e46 had a better interior design than the e92. The e46 had a more cockpit feel with the center console directed towards you.

Dont even get me started on the last gen 5 series and 6 series. It looks like they stuck the buttons on a left over blank face plate. The entire bottom piece is used for 2 tiny heated seats buttons.

Thanks for the concern but my eyes are fine. Plus my M3 interior looks nothing like the pic of 5/6 series you've attached nor the previous M3 interior pic. CF or Carbon leather is a personal preference, neither of which I have. Personally, I think the Hyundai interior looks horrible - we don't all have to like, or even agree, on the same thing; hence why there are so many different brands/models of cars. Sounds like the Hyundai is the right car for you

I'm looking to get into a GTR very shortly too.

Can you post any additional comments that you have?

Thanks!

And practically the same story for two of my friends who had G35s, I always found Nissans interior to be mediocre in terms of quality, but I can atest that I was impress by my friend GT-R, but kind of normal I guess since it's a 100k car!
The later 350Zs did have a lot of issues with peeling and chipping of the coating (similar to our cars) but the early ones (I had an '03) were much better. They had plastics similar to the ones that dealers are using to replace our peeling ones (no coating I think?). The cloth seats were prone to holes on the bolsters in those cars. Mine had leather seats and did show some wear on the bolsters. But the wear it had on the bolsters at 100k was less than my M3 has now at 55k.

Clearly we aren't going to agree - I prefer "function over form". IMO, the S2K has an awesome interior which I bet you think is a piece of crap compared to Hyundai...

As far as I'm concerned there are only three arguments for not having a GTR over an M3.

1) I didnt want to spend that much on a car
2) I didnt want to pay the high cost of maintenance on the GTR (which is a moot point since the total cost of ownership is probably still higher in the M3 since the M depreciates much more rapidly)
3) The Car HAD to be a 6MT.

Usually, I am not a fan of cars that dont use a traditional style gauge cluster. I loved thatmy GT3 had a tach right in the center with needles. Probably my goofy love for watches and things that resemble old fashion timing.

That being said. The interior was actually pretty brilliant on the s2000. A pure sports car with no frills. Two knobs for the air, and 2 buttons for the radio which were on the drivers side so your passengers couldnt fuck with it? Who knows why they put it there. They threw a huge digital tach in the center much like the racelogic LCD I have in my race car. Pretty simple and effective. However the s2000 is a one off platform car and our M3's are modified 3 series. They still and carry a generic interior over the entire lineup. The new 3 series and 6 series interior is a bit refreshing. At least its not as bad as audis a6 which I find hideous.

lately I have admired the 2012 A3 interior. Its different, sporty, very slim and function. Plain like porsches log style, but still retains refinement. I am probably biased since the vents look like copies of the mp4-12c air vents haha.

Its definitely not a good daily driver, and its definitely not pretty. You made the right choice.

Ummm, I think you are wrong on both accounts. The second part being IMO of course. Everything I've ever heard says that it's a great daily driver.

I have no complaints for the GTR as a DD. Comfy, fast and spacious. It's a bit firm ride wise, but I like that.

I dont see that you made any points that explain why its a bad DD?

Confused. Lost.... So why is it a bad DD? Did it hurt your butt?

Hey, we actually agree on something

The S2K has a perfect driver's setup, awesome gearshift/trans, and perfect pedal placement. The digital dash didn't take me too long to get used to it plus it had the "IndyCar" PI dash look to it - I preferred the AP2 dash over the AP1 because the redline was closer to the center of the dash, although I did/do miss the "rush" from 8 to 9k rpm with the AP1/F20C

The new 6 series does have a well integrated interior design - hey, we agree on two things

I'll agree on the fact that its not a good DD.

Although with each year owners say they've been tweaking the suspension to ride a little nicer. I only drove a 2009 GTR. It was very harsh. It rode harder than my fathers Scuderia, but I loved the Scud for weekend driving...nothing I've ever driven has come remotely close.

Good point HREM3 --- I drove a '10 myself. Perhaps the latest models do ride better. I am open minded enough to condition my opinion on that.
