I was there in my 03.5 E46 M3 Tag M3NACE Carbon Black Black Volks. I was running Solo Blue. What were you in? That Black E92 M3 Wrecked and that old Classic car ate it through the double apex..

I was in a Black GT3. Running with a friend, his car, not mine. I ran green with an instructor in the morning, solo blue in the afternoon, friend ran red group.

Man, I hated to see the Ford GT replica get all bent up. I overheard the father /son talking, guess the brake pedal went to the floor and he turned sharp and backed it in. I notice the air bags went off in the Black E92 M3, so the impact had to be significant. Damage appeared to be cosmetic, but I didn't get a close look.

First time for me at a Chin Motorsports event...well done. Do you run with Chin often?

I'm in Northwest Arkansas, Springdale. I don't track, first time. I typically tour driving schools, enjoy them. Especially running "SE" cars. (SE = Somebody Else's) Thinking about it with my M though. Hard for me to convert the car to a track piece, it's such a luxury item. I'm sorely tempted. Had at GT3 previous and would rather track that, but I've got the M now and will probably stick with it. Much better road car. Contemplating it this winter.

Decisions decisions lol. My good friend whom I was with at the same event just ordered a 2015 GT3Rs lol 190k later. I built him a an E46 M3 to track bc it is more cost effective than his older 996 TTS. I am going to track mine a bit but thats what I do with my business is build M series Track cars for myself and my customers and also I keep a few to sell and build to suit.

They will likely be posted soon to the Chin Motorsports website, doesn't appear to be uploaded yet.

I think the car is decent with just a couple tweaks. Nothing crazy but pretty capable. Still understeers a bit and not too nimble compared to a GT3.

This weekend my friend just brought out his 991 GT3 (there were a few) and another guy had a 997 GT3.

There were sections where I was just following him where he was just gently turning and barely trying and I was complaining to my ride along, WTH he's prob talking on his cell phone and I'm sitting here scrubbing everywhere just trying to hang!

Good to know M4isKing. I wonder what it takes to make a '13 M3 competitive with a track prepped GT3? I'm guessing Software, test pipes, springs, camber, ride height, weight loss, tires.

Missed this thread.

I was there also. Grey M3 number 17.

Blue group solo.

Essentially stock car.

Paddocked across the paddock from the GT40.

Hanging out with my friends from Huntsville...red GT3 and blue Lotus Elise.

One of my guys rode with him....and we were discussing what mods he had done to that car...

So...let's hear it.

My friend was convinced that the motor was putting out more than stock HP.

I wouldn't know, pretty sure it's a stock motor, but I didn't ask.

He's been after me to get down there and drive it for a while now...so he can prove how much faster than me he is! I'm sure it's chipped and the suspension is amazing. Larry's become an excellent driver. He was in mid 37's that weekend consistently with me working to finally hit low 39's. Part of why I was there is I'm always reminding him that my superkart made it around in low 28's in '07-'08 (had to show him on MyLaps) and he's heard enough so now he feels better!

My old GT3 was a lot of fun, but didn't handle like that, his is a dream everywhere, straights corners and curbs. Brakes were tight the entire weekend. The pop-off feature of that suspension package is now a must have feature for me. The cup slicks did not suck either...loved those things too, but pricey.

What was obvious to me was that Goldcrest is a real difference maker. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Keith, he set that thing up and adjusted it quickly, taught me a ton about my old car. So sorely tempted to get a GT3 back, but their prices have sky rocketed and are hard to find right now. The M3 is so refined, I really enjoy it so am thinking of keeping my M3 and working on nothing but suspension after that experience, it was so much fun.

From my experience, after spending a lot of money (and time) modifying my E92M3 for track duty, I would have been better off starting with a GT3, which goes faster than my modded M3 in stock form. Plus Porsche does not void your warranty if you track.
