New M3 Owner - Looking for advice

Hi guys,

Just got a 2011 M3 Convertible last week and have been very excited with the vehicle. Been reading on the forum nonstop for many different things i had questions about and have learned a whole lot from many of you. So thanks to all!

Would love to hear your advice on the following...

Love the sound note of the M3 Exhaust Mod and would really love to do it even though there is no performance gain. But have also been contemplating on the BPM Sport Performance Engine Software Stage II Tune + AA Test Pipes (Package Deal).

Should I forget about the exhaust Mod and do the engine software + AA test pipes? Or would it be okay doing both and my exhaust note would not be too loud or too much? I'm also planning on getting the Macht Schennell M3 Stage 2 intake charge kit as well.

Thanks in advance.

Dany

I have acm test pipes with acm mod, it is pretty loud at full throttle for sure but you can adjust the volume with your foot. It idles quiet, cruising at 80 sounds amazing imo. Then when you want to listen to it scream just push that foot down. There are a few videos of it floating around here on the forum.

Test Pipes + Stage II (especially with DCT GTS) + OEM Mod = snaps, crackles and pops!

Seriously, fantastic combination - almost Italian about 3500 rpm! You will not regret!

Serious scream at high RPMs, but you can control the volume with the gas pedal - I can still roll through my neighbourhood late at night and not wake up the neighbours. Great combination!

Thanks TimberWolf_3063, another question I had: would that combination pass emissions? No check engine?

I would go test pipes and tune. This gives you power and sound. Emissions is going to be dependent on your state inspection requirements. Prob best to google 'passing emissions in X state without cats' to get info from other forums.

Catless is for off road use only of course.

BPM Stage II, which took care of the CEL - and we don't have emissions where I live. However, with test pipes/primaries gone, passing emissions is doubtful
