Cons of buying an used exhaust?

I'm thinking about buying an used exhaust. Are there any cons to buying an used exhaust rather than a new one? Thanks!

I bought a used remus race exhaust. Paid less than half of its new price. Absolutely no regrets. I would err on the side of fewer miles as miles could take their toll in terms of discolouration and stuff. Also, exhaust material breaks down with higher miles making the exhausts a bit louder as well.

It's case-by-case and too subjective to really answer. Obviously the age is a factor but more important is the quality of the install and take-down by the original owner.

Garage List
As far as functionality, there should be no issue. It usually comes down to cosmetics.

Used is the way to go. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of E90 exhausts on the market so I will have to go new, boo. Maybe do the exhaust mod.

i have bought used exhaust for many years now without any issue. although i do a lot of LOCAL DEALS to be able to see the exhaust itself in person to avoid all the drama of what others have experience....

although i bought my AKRA here in the forum i took my chance since the guy had a very good ITRADER reviews and i trusted my gut. the exhaust was practically brand new with 300 miles or just a little over cause when i got it, it looks like it was just open from the box.... and until now it still looks the same. LOL ....

so i guess it depends on who you get it from. but buying used is the best way and i say the only way if you find the right deal or person to deal with.
