So Top Gear, there is really only one was the number one TV show on the planet. Clarkson takes the piss out of everyone and everything, and the new show all be it is pretty good it isn't Top Gear, and since Clarkson was really the star I think if he want's to chirp off who cares. And I agree he can be an idiot, but that was his persona wasn't it.

The reality is Top Gear really was Clarkson, Hammond, and May. Honestly, if it weren't for the name "Top Gear", I doubt that the latest presenters would even have a show.

I liked Chris as a youtuber, but none of the new hosts have the personality (nor camaraderie) to carry a full show. Top Gear will always be remembered as the Clarkson and friends show.

I thought Chris Harris, Paddy McGuiness and Freddie Flintoff have great chemistry in the current season. Certainly not as much as the decades long relationship enjoyed by Clarkson's crew, but I would say 80-90% of the way there. And for a trio who have only been working together for 2 years I think it's great.

As controversial as he is, Jeremy Clarkson to this day is still one of my favorite presenters. Like others have said, the new show is not Top Gear. Chris Harris is great, but even still I only watch his youtube highlights, I have no interest in the show. The Grand Tour will never be as great as TG was (although still good) but the chemistry between Clarkson, Hammond and May is undeniable.

Where is the slam???

I like to believe that clarkson is less of a buffoon in real life than on the show. And while I think he an RH and JM made TG, I also had little-to-no interest in their antics. Same with current TG; just tell me about cars, please! Somebody just needs to make 'Chris Harris on cars' into a TV show. That would suit me just fine.

Full disclosure: I've never watched the grand tour, and only a few episodes of post-clarkson TG.

Current Grand Tour is more of a show of Clarkson and friends, if you didn't enjoy the antics then its unlikely you will like GT either, they have now moved onto just full adventure films with cars and other transportation sprinkled in rather than a car show with some car based adventure, but car reviews are hardly entertainment for majority of people, cars TV shows evolved to be entertainment. Its how fifth gear eventually fell into obscurity.

As for the whole thing about TG's current lineup having no chemistry, its hard to develop that when your former colleges were 20 or so YEARS ahead of you.

Interestingly, after having watched that clip attached to the article I couldn’t help but notice the attempt to place a Jeremy Clarkson cardboard cutout that looks eerily like Chris Harris and speaks like Jeremy hosting the show.... Trying to replace the very tonality, rough voice and enthusiasm. Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth....

Let's not forget that the other three hosts were together for YEARS before they built up the chemistry that they had in the end.
Watch the earlier shows of the previous hosts. Not good at all.

Oh, yes, Clarkson is a douche. He ruined it for everyone by getting sacked (which he fully deserved - who punches a coworker?!)
