That's good to know. If I ever got a VW, it'd almost certainly have to be a diesel. I've considered replacing my 4Runner with a Golf Tdi Wagon. It would really suit my needs perfectly, but I was worried about reliability, especially coming from a Toyota beater.

I drive my 09 M3 all year long in Norway :-) Snow is no problem with a proper set of winter tires. It is our only car. So we drive it to the mountains full of ski gear at least once a month during winter. I love every bit of the winter driving :-)

Faster than my M3 in a straight line

Neither S4 or M3 gets driven a lot (weekends only) because my job gave me a corporate car...an efficient and purposeful Toyota Corolla.

I split daily driving duties between my M3 and my SLK - 75%/25%. Drive almost 200 miles a day.

Golf Hatch TDi or Jetta TDi wagon would be a great option. Not sure if your in the lower or upper part of SC - but flat highway's = 48+ MPG in these little monsters.

Torque with a Malone tune is INSANE!!!

2011 Ford F-150 Super Crew with the FX4 package. Awesome in the snow and decent gas mileage for something that weighs over 5K lbs. Managed to get 25mpg highway which is pretty good. Town driving in the winter is not so good, around 15mpg. You'll have that with a 5 liter though

I bought a cheap Toyota Avalon to drive around.....can't help but hop into the M. However, once I get it dialed in for the track, it'll see more garage time and I'll probably buy a truck.
