there was a conclusion, but i think it got cut off, specially in the hi-res version of the video:
http://www.coresworld.net/5thgear/M3.avi check the last part, it's cut off, though it's not Tiff, it's the other guy with the long hair. |

review was not a comparative one ... "a very safe" review id say, no real conlcusion also ... prefered them to have taken the RS4 and compare the two ... like was done with the M3 CS and RS4 ...

Conclusion?
The clip shows it exactly as it was broadcast, and I agree it was a bit of a half-hearted review.
Handling-wise, Tiff seemed to be enjoying it, but he did not say whether it was a step forward for the marque or whether it has the edge over its rivals. The demonstration of the DSC settings was cool. Otherwise Tiff did not really give any kind of verdict on the steering or gearbox and it seems BMW is intent on continuing to confuse people with non-stock brake pads. The manufacturer will be pleased that Tiff suggested you could buy that car for £50K though. |

Every review I have read or heard has said that they suspected BMW used race pads as they squealed under heavy braking, but the standard pads squeal after some spirited driving, so I'm not so sure that anything other than stock pads have been used...

No, they were race pads that's for sure. We realised that as soon as we drove it and BMW reps later confirmed it when everyone reached the Ascari circuit.
