error codes - help needed
Hi Guys - I have two error codes being thrown. Anyone know what the solution is to fix the issues?:
1) 274B Lambda sensor pump current assimilation error VKAT bank 2 2) 27B0 Secondary air system throughput bank 1 (2) |

Oxygen sensor pump current calibration fault before cat. converter, bank 2 O2 Sensor Pumping Current Trim Circuit/Open (Bank 2 Sensor 1) Oxygen sensor is available, oxygen sensor voltage > 4951 mV (K_LAVK_OBD_SA_DIAG_OL) Terminal condition: Engine running - overrun condition After a defined SA phase the lag period K_LAVK_OBD_SA_T (2.5 sec) must be completed 1. Check plug and wiring harness on pre-cat oxygen sensor LSVK B2 (especially trim circuit wire IA), 2. If OK, replace oxygen sensor MIL lamp on after engine runs 2x /Small influence on drivability 27B0 - P0491 Secondary air system flow rate, bank 1 Secondary Air Injection System Insufficient Flow (Bank 1) sls_obdh_mdf_max_intg_norm (after roughly 30s)<K_SLS_OBDH_MDF_MIN_DEF and sls_obdh_lam_asv_intg_norm < k_SLS_OBDH_MDF_2_MAG or sls_obdh_lam_asv_intg_norm < k_SLS_OBDH_ASV_LI_OPE and K_SLS_OBDH_MDF_MIN_DEF>K_SLS_OBDH_MDF_MAX_DEF Battery voltage > 10.8 V (k_sls_obd_ub_min) Condition for fault memory entry: 30000 ms 1. Disconnect secondary air line 2. Carry out test routine 3. If flow is too high, replace the ASV 4. Otherwise check Line 1 for obstructions and replace as indicated My Suggestion: Replace bank 2 sensor 1 oxygen sensor, clear faults, and see if SES light returns. |

Thanks Mike, much appreciated! Since I'm a newbie with fault codes, what precat 02 sensor is "bank 2, sensor 1". Is that driver side before the primary cats, or passenger side?
Anyone know of the cheapest place to buy these? Are there "cheap" 02 sensors being sold today that I should stay away from? Thanks! |

Sorry for bumping an old thread. Just had a customer with a 2010 M3 with 136k miles. Had fault code 27B0 for Secondary Air System, insufficient air flow, for bank 1. Performed a test plan and it called for to replace pre-cat o2 sensor. Pre-cat o2 sensor was already replaced at the dealer due to same fault code. We removed the non-return valve for the secondary air system behind the cylinder head. Found that the port behind the head is clogged with carbon deposits. Recommended to remove cylinder head so that carbon build up can be removed. Customer declined repair and is going to trade it in for another BMW.

True but then the Secondary Air System Readiness Codes won't be set right? The M3 is in Los Angeles so Secondary Air System Readiness code is not an exception when doing the smog. Only the EVAP system.
Which turner does Secondary Air System delete?
