Best BOV for VF620 kit
I have a VF620 kit on my M3 and I don't get that "woosh" from the BOV like I want. I'm assuming I need to change the spring but im not sure on what spring rate to go with. Can anyone give me a suggestion and a possible sound clip of their BOV and spring rate? I'm assuming a Tial BOV is the way to go but any suggestions would be awesome

Tial Q BOV, with a -2psi spring and the Greddy style flange and you are good.

That's weird. I don't know how to post my video on this site but I have plenty of clearance as well as some of my other buddies who have the tial. Maybe his manifold is sitting higher

I don't know if it necessarily holds more boost. I think it's just for the noise effect. Air is always flowing even mid shift. It's only when he really rip it and back off when air makes a huge blowoff sound. My car is a weekend driver only so I don't mind the constant air flow sound

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but had a question as to the difference between the Tial with a -2 in vacuum spring (that everyone seems to recommend) and the Vortech with the -17" vacuum (that everyone else seems to recommend).
I just installed the Vortech and I really love the sound when letting off a shift, but when cruising and not much gas on I get a bit of a quiet woosh as the valve is opening a little. I would say that's happening around -6" of vacuum to full open. I'm wondering if I traded it out for the Tial with the -2" vacuum spring it would be much worse or better. Can't wrap my head around it....think because it's he first Monday after DST. BTW, I have a VF 620 kit if that maters to anyone talking specifics. How much different will they sound and act? |
