Unless you source a forum members x pipe with cats and source the other parts yourself, then the car will definitely be totaled. And this doesn’t include the labor involved and other miscellaneous things they will find…

Wow $10k?!?! Wonder if it’s better for me to run no cats then swap back to oe for emissions.

People on the forum or FB sell the stock x pipe with cats for less than $1000 so that’s your best bet

yea until you realize the transmission case is cracked. its not a structural member of the car, either way if its cracked the dealer wouldve saw it.

Most insurance companies will quote used parts so there is still a chance it won't be totaled. Did the front wheels get dropped onto the pavement? If it did, I'd be worried about the frame being bent up.

Even with used parts you're looking at a $10k bill...minimum.

Probably just hooked it to the winch and lowered the ramp

A big key is that it's not legal to install used cats. So while *we* can do that and slide by under the radar with no problem, the insurance company can't.

Yeah the insurance bill would be a write off. My 09 M3 had its DCT replaced in 2016 when the previous owner was complaining of clunking sounds. The dealer sourced a new transmission for AUD$22000. I still have the itemised bill from the shop for it...

Driveshaft, diff, trans, all mounting points, floor damage, rockers, mid pipe, and all bottom aero bits. The headers could have been bent by exhaust moving as well. This fucking sucks man I’m sorry!

Yeah I think insurance will total it. Here is a thread of what happened to mine with a fender bender a couple years ago that was totaled. Best of luck.
