*HELP* Meisterschaft GT vs GT2. What's the real difference in sound.

Hey everyone. I've been searching through videos and the forums. I can't tell with videos too much, and the other forum posts only have half answers.

How loud is the GT exhaust. I am leaning towards it, but in some videos it does not seem loud. I like to hear the exhaust and I do like loud, but not obnoxiously loud.

Can anyone that owns or heard them in person tell me the difference in sound for them.

Even a scale of 1-10 comparing stock vs gt vs gt2 would be great as well.

I am leaning towards the GT, but if the GT2 is not crazy I'd maybe go for that.

I daily drive on Long Island, so that's also a concern.

Thank you!

Sound is very subjective.

I have the GT and I've heard the GT2 in person and it is a little louder. I personally would say the GT is 6/10 over stock. 1 being stock and 10 being no exhaust. But again, everyone have gauge sound differently. For what it is worth I measured my GT with a decibel meter. From a stand still the GT idles at between 68 to 71db from 3 feet away and peaks around just under 100db at redline. Also note that I took the measurement in my underground parkade and the db meter was only $50 from amazon, so take the accuracy with a grain of salt.

If you plan on running test pipes or a catless x-pipe go with the GT. If plan to only change the muffler, then go with the GT2.

GT2 is way to loud in my opinion with an X-pipe for daily driving.

Only going to be using the muffler with the connecting SR pipes

I have a GT on my car with stock cats, bought it strictly based on videos. The GT2 just seemed too loud/raspy for my tastes, though I've never heard it in person. The GT volume is perfect for me, it's a good jump in volume and difference in sound from stock but not obnoxious to myself or others. It's pretty loud considering it's the "quieter" version between the GT/GT2.
