When you replace all the rubber and plastic parts for metal and solid bearings , your going to inherently add some noise . Itís not horrible, and in certain RPMís itís louder , but again , when you modify cars thatís a risk you need to be willing to make. That being said the shifter is amazing and I would do it again in a heartbeat . I should have done it sooner!

Maybe I got used to it, but when I first installed my 22% Autosolutions SSK it required a bit more effort to shift. Now I don't think there isn't much effort at all, but the shifts are tighter and goes into gear confidently. Money well spent, made driving the car more enjoyable.

Is the group buy still happening? I think there's definitely a lot of interest from the community but just need someone to contact Ronald to get something together.

2 cents...

Ron is a pleasure to work with and his shifters absolutely speak for themselves. So why not just reach out and order one? The customization options are endless, plus discussing your intentions, preferences, fears, etc will ensure he's building the right set up for you.

Group buys will probably be limited to a specific configuration plus the hassle of wrangling a bunch of folks, long waits, etc to save a couple bucks?

Just go for it, you won't regret it!

I would be in as well, but i'd want a 15% reduction.

And my main thing would be to get a smoother/easier feel going into gears for daily driving, similar to a s2000 shifter. Would this be possible with the AS kit?

Drove my friends E92 M3 with 15% reduction and it's an AMAZING shifter.
I'd probably take 17 to 18% reduction after driving his. WAY BETTER than stock.
You can feel the "slots" the lever is going into now, where before it was loose even in gear.

There is some increase gear noise now but that could be the bushings he was running too.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

For sure it is an amazing shifter.
Very positive and spartan
But,
Personally I think stock shifter feels also fine if it is in good shape.

Also it won't feel like s2000 shifter as our m3 is much heavier such as ( transmission, differential, wheels, tires, and etc parts.....)

In action

Yeah, I know it will never feel as good as that but I want to be close haha

What I don't like about the stock shifter is the notchiness when going into gear, it needs extra effort to slide into a gear. From that video it seems pretty notchy still, like it doesn't slide into gear easily. What reduction do you have?

Unfortunately trying get a German box of industrial sprockets to shift like a Japanese masterpiece of mechanical perfection is like trying to get a Dodge truck's steering to feel like a 911. An admiral goal but an impossible task.

Not sure why, but every German transmission I have ever owned has always felt like it came from a truck. On the other hand, every Japanese transmission has been buttery smooth - even my wife's old Subaru POS.

I just installed the AS SSK and it is quite nice. Removes a lot of the slop and gives much better feedback than stock. Does it feel like and S2000 or RSX? Hell no. Is it better? Hell yes. My only regret is I went with an 18% reduction when I wish I had gone with a 25% reduction. I don't mind the added effort. The 80A bushings are nice too as they firm everything up. There is some NVH through the shifter now, usually at higher RPM, but such is life. Highway cruising is unaffected.

Cheers,
