Houston oil change at 7.5k intervals

My car has about 8.5k miles right now and I am considering bringing it in for a 7.5k interval oil change before the scheduled 15k mile maintenance.

I was wondering if anyone has done this at the Southwest Frwy (Momentum on 59) dealer and could point me in the direction of an SA that's familiar with this practice.

Any help much appreciated.

What I want to know is whether one should do these changes more frequently than the factory programmed guidance? The car is programmed to assess use and so do we override that w/ rules of thumb like 'every 7.5k miles'? Not being argumentative, just something I have pondered.

Thanks for all the input guys. Can anyone tell me what's involved in an oil analysis?
I'm assuming a sample is taken and then tested...

Just worked with Phong for the first time, and it was a really great service experience. Would recommend him without a doubt.

I also feel like and idiot for not changing the oil earlier. Engine much smoother sounding.
