Engine Light On - Increased Emissions Warning
Decided to take my car out yesterday after a few months. Everything was going well, drove about 150KM. After a while, I was looking at the little square display located on the centre of the odometer and the display was VERY faded, I couldn't see the KM etc. I turned the car on and off a couple of times and eventually the display started working again. Immediately after it started working, I got an engine light and a "INCREASED EMISSIONS WARNING" message on the idrive. My battery is very low and needs to be replaced as well. Could this all be because of the battery by any chance? What are your experiences / outcomes with the "Increased Emissions" warning?
Thanks in advance. |

If it drives "sluggish or in limp mode" then you got a problem.
But most likely it's the battery. Happened to me before, but instead of replacing it? I hooked it up to my battery charger over night and problem solved! |

OP. Did you try a new battery and did that fix it? Also, What signs other than just the increased emission SES light did you have, any?
My car has been throwing the same SES light for a while now but I dont have any symptoms of a battery that is having issues otherwise. More info from you situation would help. Thanks |

Did you ever figure out what caused the "Increased Emissions" code??
Was it actually the battery? Not one of the Secondary Air Pump valves? |
