Top Gear: Would you still go for the ZCP??
After watching JC's review on top gear, would you still pay extra and go for the ZCP or just the normal E92M3?
Thanks, |

If you like the Y spoke wheels and want DCT it is not as expensive as he suggested and the Dunsoford lap time for the non Comp pack car was in the dry and the comp pack in the show in the wet so Compapack car is slightly faster.

I wouldn't have gone for it before hand, and still wouldn't. I think I can do better with mods on my own with the same amount of cash. I prefer to drive with DSC off anyway, so save the cash, and get Motons and wheels and tires that are the proper width

If your considering EDC and 19"'s...then yes just for the resale alone. ZCP is only $250 more if your on board with 19"'s and EDC.

I opted NOT to get ZCP on my car that was just delivered, and I made that decision 8 weeks before the top gear episode aired.
The ONLY reason to get ZCP is if you want the wheels!!! PERIOD!!!

Despite anything Clarkson or anyone else has to say, I don't like the 19" wheels (prefer the 220s), and have no need for the EDC. Hence, saved myself the $5000 (Cad) when I ordered my car last week.

You really can't take it too seriously what you see on Top Gear. There is some truth to what is said but ultimately its entertaining stuff!

the drop is ONE CENTIMETER (nothing), and I highly doubt anyone on this forum could tell me they feel the difference in the EDC between zcp and not even on a track. My 220M and EDC is my version of ZCP.

For me, I'd have to side with those voting "no-brainer". I wanted EDC, so it became a $1500 add for the 359M wheels and the 1/2" drop suspension. Without these adds, the cost of decent wheels and an installed suspension like Dinan's would run 3-4 times as much. For a DD like mine, I just couldn't justify the added $$. Although truth be told, I'd prefer a set of after-market wheels and suspension, but just couldn't justify the money.

not sure if you should be basing your purchase decision on Top Gear, but the show is good hour's worth of entertainment rather than research IMO....

Also, the ZCP wheels are .5" wider than the 220's which will play nicer with meatier tires after you go through your first set. If the ZCP came fitted with the correct tires to begin with I'm pretty certain that it would have done better on the Top Grear track with dry conditions.

This will continue to drive me crazy. The drop is ONE CENTIMETER. 1cm does not = .5 inches.

.4 inches....Wasn't there a thread a little bit ago showing the difference between stance. Regardless, I liked the ZCP wheels better, and wanted the EDC drop and every other thing that comes with ZCP were just added benefits.
