My ///M's new powerful sidekick!

I picked my new F10 up when my old E60 was still around. The old and the new 5 spent 10 days of quality time together.

The F10 is a more refined luxury car and is built towards highway cruising with extreme comfort. The engine pulls strong with a smooth throttle and feels like a big N/A engine thanks to the valve tronic.

The E60 is more of a sports car hiding in a sedan chassis and is more nimble and fun on the corners. The engine has raw power and throttle feel and a liitle bit of spikey like all turbo cars should feel.

The conclusion is I love them both, and I wish I could get to keep both cars.

More pics to come!

would love to read a comparison between the old and the new.

Is there anything you miss from the old generation which the new one doesnt have?

My plan is to keep it a sleeper with only minor bolt-ons. All major modding goes to the M3.

I always liked the looks of the E60 until the F10 came out. The F10 makes the E60 look horrible, especially side by side.

Nice 5!

I test drove the new 550 and also felt it was a little more luxury than sport.

Interesting. I've had exactly the opposite reaction. The E60 took a LONG time to warm up to, but got to like particularly the 550i with sport package and the M5. The new 5 is absolutely horrible, in my opinion. Side by side the E60 looks a lot better esp. from the back.

I do think the interior is a step up though - like how the dash is more driver oriented.

love the new 5! but ease up on the HDR. too much reflection on silver/gray cars looks fake and the paint looks almost dirty.
