Haven't had a DCT update for 15+ months...
Should I or do I need to get one? Last service I told them the car stalled to try and get it updated, but they said they had to reproduce it for them to put the new software on. So they didn't do it.

There are tons of threads on DCT software and updates - search and read. You should be able to get them to install by finding an issue that is easier to reproduce than a stall.
Stalling is definitely dangerous. It sounds like you have the original software. You should pursue getting the latest software. |

Mine has been very good since my last update, roughly 18 months ago, so I have not touched it!
Post back on how the most recent update works, and any changes you can detect!

I will, haven't had any issues, but who knows, newer is better... I hope. Appointment is Monday.

New update rocks! I only got to drive a few miles home, but shifts seem WAY smoother (S4). I'll play with it more later this week.
