I wonder how much would it be to change my stupid sunroof on E92 M3. What is the price range for this?

Is there a place to get a carbon plug for the sunroof? That should be much easier to install than a whole roof. And the glass weighs a lot.

Imagine the weight loss of the entire moonroof assembly and a steel roof.... i would probably lose 50lbs off the top of the car.

Been great. It did have one dead spot from the car sitting in Florida sun, so I had to roof recleared last year. Other than that been great.

Perhaps IND can comment on this mod. I saw this installed a few years ago on a former client aka Silver Ghost which was featured on this forum. At the time when I viewed the car, the roof had been installed for some time. The thing that struck me the most was that you could see the outline of the sunroof. Was this because the tray and components were left in place? I have seen a few of these installs and I would garner that it's better to remove that item and replace it with the E92 roof bracing and E90 slick top roof liner.

IND to comment?

Don't have that issue on my car. It is an original slick top

That would be concerning. It's a bucket list mod for me and I've got a sunroof.

I don't see how that would be possible though I feel like all sunroof components would be gone, and the oem interior roof lining would have to be that of a slicktop.
