Thanks for the quote, not sure if the ext maintenance this is worth it for me. I do plan on keeping this car for a long time. Perhaps someone can lean in and offer some advice.

2008 coupe /w 37k
I avg about 10k per year
have not had my brakes done yet
40k service is just around the corner

Need to decide by 8/22/12

Thanks,

Hi Dru,

Kindly PM me the price for an '09 E89. There seems to be no action on the E89 side regarding extended warranties. I'm concerned as there are a lot of "moving" parts that can go wrong on the Z's .

Appreciations in advance...

Unfortunately I am not a dealer. I have just been forwarding the Forum Member Pricing I got for my E90M. My best advice is to email Daniel Dutton
danieldutton@pacificbmw.com. He saved me a few hundred dollars off the best pricing I got from several other dealerships for my particular car. The M-car pricing for Extended Maintenance and Extended Warranty are very different than regular production. Check with Daniel, I'm sure he'll give you a competitive quote.

I can grease monkey it, but I have better things to do with my time like make money and spend time with friends and family. Just one man's opinion.
This is an excerpt from one of my previous posts regarding the simple CBA I applied before committing to the Extended Maintenance through 100K miles or 6 years (whichever comes first). I am at 46K through year 4 so I will probably hit the 6 year mark before the 100K. I like this Maintenance Plan because I pay zero anytime I service my car. Brakes should be replaced around 50K so if you can get one in under the original factory maintenance plan, you can theoretically increase the cost benefit. Plug changes are about $300 as well and you will need those. In summary, (1) brake job front & rear, and plug changes and the Extended Maintenance Plan pays for itself.

Dealer just did my front brakes last week so I am going to decline the extended service plan. Thanks for the info though!

what's the difference between maintenance and warranty plans? i thought warranty covers everything like the original 4yr/50k warranty that comes with the car.

I believe maintenance covers scheduled services such as oil change, brakes, etc. Warranty covers items that break not related to wear/tear.

Hopefully the info from my purchase experience is useful to you all. Sorry for not getting back sooner; I don't log in regularly. My only advice is don't fall for the "Regular price for Extended Maintenance is $3995 and your special price is $3295." $3295 is MSRP and dealerships can beat that. One dealership tried to pull that on me but thanks to this forum, I was saved.
