As much as people bitch about stealer-ships, flippers and EAG this fact pattern validates the comfort and convenience people prefer in a dealer purchase to the point they will pay $7k to$10k over private party sale.

OP your car is well worth mid forties - post it up on Autotrader or BMWCCA. This forum is perhaps too small a distribution to find the right buyer. Agree on BAT as well.
To be fair the comparable EAG car that sold for $54k had only 22k miles on it and No NAV.

Ok then - that's worth a few more bucks with less than half the miles. Sounds like a fair price actually on such a low mileage unicorn. Was it a "call for price" or was price listed?

At this point it would probably take an offer of at least $40K for me to consider parting with mine.
Same here. I have a 2011.5 6MT slicktop with 39k miles, only in rain twice, garaged 24/7 since new, and I wouldn't part with it for less than 40k. I would definitely put it on BaT however. I sold my E39 M5 on BaT almost two years ago now, and it clearly was the right venue for that car (owned it 15 years, 66k miles, garaged 24/7, etc). I worked with two different "enthusiast" buyers prior to going to BaT, and in the end both wouldn't even come close to what the real market was for the car with their offers.

My buyer had to sell it after a year due to a transfer to San Francisco from TX, and he got ridiculous local offers for the car. He went back to BaT and sold it for just about what he paid me for it a year earlier ($34k + 5%). It ended up in very strong hands of a car industry figure in LA.

BaT is the place for this car. At the mileage it is at, it would set a high mark at the asking price, but I don't think the market is quite there yet. With a BE rod bearing replacement done, and a PPI from a well-known shop completed, and all items addressed, it might come close though. However, one major caveat is whether it has ever been winter driven -- undercarriage pictures on a lift fix that concern. Surface rust on steel parts and oxidation on aluminum parts take a lot of value off the top price in an auction. Also the fact that badges needed refreshing indicates this car was likely a daily driver and sat in the sun all day. Just starting off with all that will come out in a BaT auction since many of them shine a 5kW light beam into every crevice of a car's provenance.

That was their list price. Of course it was "call for price" but I called. Got the details, was considering and then it sold while I was dicking around so I missed out.

Not the case. The previous owner debadged the M3 logo so when I had that put back on I had them replace all the badges so they were factory fresh. Just being anal is all. Same reason I bought brand new wheels vs. having them refinished from a tiny bit of curb rash. I wanted an absolutely mint car and would pay whatever to get it there.

If you saw why I replaced the plastic around the center dash controls you’d think I was crazy.

To start and to be clear I think OP car is worth the money. My problem with EAG is they would charge 10k more and they regularly buy up cars like these from private parties to inflate their market. You can say it helps the overall market but if it really did wouldn't this beautiful car already be sold?

As far as the one at EAG not having nav that is desirable at this point, no? Idrive in those cars is an ancient eyesore.

Bottom line is that someone needs to buy this sweet ride before it gets auctioned off or sold to someone like EAG.

Wow. This is the car that could *possibly* justify selling my LMB E39 M5 and getting matching set of IB M3s, E46 couple and E90 sedan. Although I can't get as much for my M5 as Chuck got for his. Funny how you run into the same people in different forums, and the same EAG debate!

The BaT decision will rest on what kind of reserve you can negotiate. Might want to wait until spring is closer. Lots of complaints about how low BaT insists on, but lately I've seen lots of BMW RNMs. So maybe there's been change on that front. Whatever your decision GL.

"I realize there are $20k e90 M3's out there but the buyer for one of those is not the buyer for my car."

I also have thick skin so I can take the price criticism too!!!

-Josh[/QUOTE]

I said the same thing in a post when I had my M3 listed for sale. Interested parties did not like that lol. Examples like this with low miles, meticulously maintained, sought after specs etc are not going to be for every buyer out there. It takes the right buyer to come along that understands and is prepared to purchase and know's what they're getting.

I firmly believe that yours is worth every penny without question. GLWS

Pretty much fully loaded except for extended leather
Alpine White with Fox Red leather, CF roof, ZCP, DCT, gloss black highline trim, individual audio, heated seats, rear electric blinds

I ended up with this low miles E92 M3 instead.

It's still in my garage. A few offers at $45k. Holding firm though.

Lowering to $44,500 and took off the feeler. Had a few offers at $45k so hoping this is where I need to be. Unfortunately those guys are no longer in the market or found other cars and I’m a bit more motivated to move the car.
