Powder coating...

Black car... gloss black, matte black, or gun metal powder coated wheels. Opinions?

Go gunmetal, gives the car a better contrast.

Yep, agree on the gunmetal. Compliments the black and provides a nice subtle contrast.

Or bronze? I always like bronze wheels on black car.

Also I heard that it is not recommended to powder coat wheels because the heat from the oven may affect the wheel strength. Although it can be done as I've seen powder coated wheels before.

This is the correct answer. Black on black looks like a police car, plus black wheels can look weird against the brownish-black tire rubber (unless you're religious about tire shine). Gunmetal or graphite will pop.

I would suggest satin finish. It will hide dirt and dust better than gloss and matte. Example:

Not matte black.

I'd do gunmetal for the slight contrast.

Cheap and sloppy powdercoaters will just rush it and use improper technique, which could weaken the wheel, yes. Take it to a place that understands this and will spend the time to do it properly.

There is nothing inherent to powdercoating that will weaken a wheel. Tons of high-end forged race wheels are powdercoated.

add to this, do you have any idea how hot wheels get when tracking due to heat transfer from brakes??? pretty sure they get hotter tracking than a PC oven.

Here is a shot of dark bronze. Not for everyone but I love how it looks.

Depends on the wheels. Post a pic of the wheels you're talking about.

If it's ZCP's, stick with silver.
