FWIW, my track toy is a '08 e90 with 233K, although I suspect the engine was swapped at some point....
I have a spare motor "laying around" just incase. |

Haven't checked this thread in a couple weeks but thanks to everybody's words of encouragement I decided I'm going to begin the process of converting my car into a track car. I put in a set of Status seats from a fellow forum member in a couple weeks ago in preparation for a track day at Laguna Seca. What an awesome drive taking PCH the whole way.

I think you'll be fine as long as you keep fresh fluids in it. I'd look into changing fluids very often.
Here's my intervals on my E46 M3: Oil/PS - 2-3 events Coolant, diff, MT fluids - 6-8 events Plugs, coils, valve adjustment - 1x per year or 12 events If it was a DCT - 12 events or once a year. Need to be aware that you will increase the stress on the car once you put R-Comps on. Everything will run hotter and take more of a beating. My intervals above are for my E46 M3 on R-Comps. May want to throw on fresh coolers too. I think OEM for radiator and oil cooler is fine.
