Thats pretty sweet deal! How much do they sell per L of oil alone? Should probably buy a few L of oil to top-up in between oil changes lol

I've never bought only 1L from them. So I don't know unfortunately.

Called the Audit dealership in Barrie. They've never heard of 10W60. They put 5W40 in the R8.

Bump - 2019 now, any spots in Mississauga/West GTA? I'm a new owner of an e90 M3, looking at options of buying 10w60.

Call your nearest Audi dealership.

Ask for the oil specific to the Audi R8 V10, the V8 model uses the regular 5w40.

Not completely correct. The first gen V10 uses 5W40, while the newer gen uses 10W60. I have one, for validation. It still confuses me why my M3 costs more for an oil change than the R8. LOL.

That's surprising I thought it would be the other way around, newer R8V10+ using 5w40 and the older v10 using the 10w60.

Prices have gone up slightly. I managed to get these for $12+tax/1L bottle from Audi Brampton.

Still the best price you can find anywhere. Even in the US it's around $12-$15 USD/L.

There are also some deals on Kijiji for $60/5L jug of Liqui Moly but I personally prefer Castrol TWS.

Anyone know of any Canadian Audi dealers that has an online store to order this stuff?

For walk-in purchases at any local dealers was a R8 V10 VIN number needed?

Audi dealerships no longer carry TWS and I am not aware of any other reasonably priced alternative source. They are selling their own rebranded Mobil 1 10w60 which is only available in Europe.

I've seen only limited but positive web info on the performance characteristics and compatibility of M1 10w60 with the S65 so will probably try it since it's about $4/litre cheaper than BMW 10w60.

Anyone have any experience or thoughts on the M1 10w60?

Gerry

Was this a recent change? I purchased some from Audi back in March of this year, granted I'm in BC. Maybe try a different dealer?

I checked most dealers around GTA last weekend and none had TWS. The last time I bought it was a year ago so I'm not sure when the change occurred.

The new BMW formula for the 10w60 was from Shell apparently. I had run it for a couple of oil changes and the Blackstone UOA was fairly excellent but that is because I'm running Ceratec every oil change.

For the S65 its more about how frequently you change your oil vs what brand you use.

I have a 2015 R8 V10 and just had an oil change done a couple days ago at an Audi dealer and can confirm they use 10W60 oil. In my attached invoice, for the oil the part number G-E52-160-1Q is specified. When I look up that part number, SAE 10W60 VW 501.01 oil is what shows up. But oddly enough, earlier this spring when I went to the dealer to pick up a liter of oil for top ups - they sold me the same 10W60 Castrol supercar oil as pictured on the first page of this thread and it cost $14.02 for one bottle so
