The CTS-V comes with supercharged V8 stock, and M3 comes with N/A V8 stock.

When you slap a supercharger on M3 of course it will kill the supercharged CTS-V, no matter how you tweak the supercharger on the stock CTS-V.

Stock for stock, CTS-V spanked M3, M5 and MB AMG.

Sticky tires would be interesting.... Wonder how quick they ran?

I think the Caddy had to have some traction issues. Yes it's heavier, but it has a lot more torque than the M. I don't think it would lose that bad under ideal conditions.

I've always wondered the same. Im happy to see the caddy get stomped when the motors are a fair challenge. The ~200 kg difference in weight also is a huge advantage

CTS-V was released years later after E60 M5.
The situation is back to normal once the F10 M5 appeared.

Caddy sells its cars only in US (let's take into consideration some good numbers). In Europe nobody give a s*it on them.
Did you wonder why?

Its funny you mention that because GM always bragged their CTS-V is "faster than the BMW M5" or the "fastest 4-door sedan" and only in the tiny, tiny fine print do you see it refers to the 2008 M5. Reminds me of GM's other campaign to have 5 cars that do 0-60 in under five seconds and R&T struggled to get even one to come in at 4.9 seconds under the best conditions.

No my user name does not make me partial to the E60 M5

Cheap looking?

The next generations of M and V will be more interesting. M will no longer have N/A engine, V will drop weight and look upscale, judging by the new ATS.

WOW i thought the cts-v was just a wee bit better than the way it preformed (knew it wouldn't beat the M3). GM gets so close to makeing a perfect car then they cut corners. all u have to do i look at the weight and not to mention the head liner is the same in a gmc 1500

Yep. I think the transmission makes the most difference in this case.

The Caddi does sound nice with the whine....just a little. Not better than the M of course, but still nice!
