Aftermarket exhaust center support bracket?
I'll get to the point: My car is lowered significantly. As such, the black exhaust center support bracket--which is the lowest point on the bottom surface of the car-- hangs lower than I'd like and I've scraped it a few times on some particularly aggressive driveways and ramps. (See photo for the bracket I'm talking about.)
Awhile ago, I saw someone post a link to a company that made a CNC/billet replacement bracket that was lower profile than the OEM piece. Based on the looks, it looked like it offered more ground clearance than the OEM piece. I cannot seem to find it for the life of me. Does anyone know of a company that makes an aftermarket version of that bracket? If so, please post up a link. Thanks! |

I researched this part because it had too little clearance to my xpipe and came across this:
http://m.ebay.com/itm/Ultra-Racing-2....c100408.m2460 Didn't buy it but hard to tell if it is lower profile. |

I knew exactly what you were taking about because I was following that thread for info on the carbon drive shaft.
I love to look at international options for unique parts, and remembered taking a look at that piece. Happy to help.

I've asked the same question due to the issue I was having without a definite answer. I was concerned as to whether or not it is a structural piece. Obviously the safe route would be to leave it on.
Because of my issue, I've left it off and haven't noticed any adverse effect.

Interesting you are so low you scrape that part in the middle of the car. Your front bumper undertray must be a mess because that scrapes first.

Not necessarily. The undertray is right in front of the front wheels. This cross-brace is as far from both sets of wheels as you can get. As such, when you go up a ramp, for example, this piece has a potential to catch on the edge of the ramp where it transitions to a flat surface. But yes, my undertray takes a beating, too, but from different obstacles.
