Updated pics and price - 2009 M3 DCT - 91k miles

Hi folks. Considering selling the M3. Why? I don't know, I know I'll regret it! Really though, I've been looking at Nobles for a few years now and the time might be right to start getting serious so I need to get some cash. The consensus on this site seems to be that the value would be somewhere between $26k and $29k. I would take $24k but if you want to pay me more I'll take it, haha. I'll get some more photos up when it gets a little warmer or PM me if you're interested and I'll get some over to you.

It is a 2009 E92 with carbon fiber roof, CF splittlers and spoiler (not OEM) DCT and ~89k miles. Melbourne Red wrapped in 3M satin silver. Wrap looks good but needs about a day's work this spring to get it back to 100% (it's just starting to peel in a few areas around the bumper contours).

Here's where it gets a little tricky. I did not know it when I purchased the car but it has had a respray. I believe this is due to being keyed because the Carfax was clean, it was CPO from BMW and the guy who pointed out the paint issue showed me where it had been keyed on the trunk. I'm not sure if it's every panel because it's not obvious and the respray is probably 90% as good as OEM. However I know that is going to ding the value. It didn't really bother me too much but I wrapped the car so now I obviously don't even think about it. I can pull the wrap or leave it on, I don't really care.

Other than that the car has been mechanically flawless. Turn in Concepts in Cincinnati replaced the rod bearings at around 60k and they told me the crank looked new. They also installed the coilovers. I track the car few times a year and it's always been solid as a rock. Interior is good but has the typical peeling vinyl around the window switches. Leather is what you would expect and looks pretty good for a car with 89k miles.

Now for the good part, the car is lowered on KW V3 with Ground Control camber plates, has Stoptech ST60 and ST40 brakes, Turner test pipes and a Megan axle back (sounds incredible). BPM tune. Forgestar CF5V with good MPSS tires 275/30/19 & 295/30/19.

Anyway, I really want to sell local so you can see the car before making any decisions. I know if someone out of Ohio wants it they'll try to lowball and I'm not interested in just dumping it.

GLWS. I guess around $25K-$26K is a fair deal for you and the buyer.

Having just sold my E90 last year, I would tell you that you're probably looking closer to the $26k mark. I would certainly pull all of those mods off and sell separately since they will scare away a lot of potential buyers. I know the StopTech brakes will go fast, as will those wheels (maybe you can swap + cash for a set of ZCP wheels or whatever).

The wrap will make it hard to sell -- I'd remove it unless the underlying paint is in really rough shape. The minor paintwork from vandalism isn't really a big deal for a car of that age, IMO. Spend a few bucks and replace the interior pieces that are peeling, too.

Yeah, all fair points but I think I'm going to go as is, at least for now. I'm hoping to find an enthusiast who will know what they're getting. Im afraid the time and effort, paticularly on suspension, will be a headache. Probably get lowballed on the KWs, have to ship, car would need realigned, etc. Not worth it currently.
Im torn on the wrap. The paint underneath is fine, but everyone loves the silver, as do I, lol. I'll take it off prior to purchase if someone is seriou's and they request it. Thanks for the input though.

I know it's a hassle but you are prob better off selling some of the mods. (I'd take those brakes off your hands)

For what it's worth I bought my 09 DCT with 48k for 28.5k in October.

Well here's the other rub, and I know this seems a little backwards but if I don't sell it I want all the mods. So it's sort of an all-or-nothing proposition for me. The last thing I want to do is take the mods off, sell them and end up having a harder time than I thought selling the car.

On the contrary, enthusiasts will want to build it themselves. I don't necessarily mean they want to perform the labor, just that they want to pick all of the parts and tailor it to their particular tastes.

If you are firm on selling it as-is, you'd better be prepared for a long sales process.

I'm not trying to hassle you, just want to make sure you're realistic about selling it.

Yeah, thanks. I know what you mean. Im selling my RS4 right now too, should be gone this week and with the weather hopefully turning soon im not in a rush to sell the M. Ill probably toss a for sale sign in the window at Cars and Coffee and stuff. If it doesnt sell im good with keeping it.
