Educate me on this tire wear

So these are older pilot super sports. I am new to track days so I am trying to learn as much as I can.

Feedback on the tire wear is appreciated!

I was concerned I was running too low tire pressure. Hot tire pressure was at 31 psi.

Normal. Probably going to need some mroe pressure to keep the outside edges from dying soon

Pretty standard wear for a tire like that. Some rice-graining and "material movement" is normal.

The tiny chunking is somewhat symptomatic of overheating or overdriving, but not a ton you can do except maybe be more aware of your slip angles and monitor pressures carefully.

Thank you for that explanation!

How many track days or minutes are on those? What track was it and which direction did you run them? Did you rotate/flip at any point?

I have a square set of wheels now which will be my dedicated track set up.

I don't think it is worth anymore time to keep on using this existing staggered setup

For 5 track days I would say those look really good.

I think 31psi hot is a little low. You might want to try 35-36 hot , and if you feel you are having some understeer, reduce the rear by 1-2psi.
