OG Shark you could also double-up and run TT3 with us. We are constantly short people to win tires.

No stroker - don’t want to go there while competing with this car. Hoping to get a little hp bump - should have an idea how that will go here in the next few days. We have been focusing a lot on reducing and redistributing weight while the car was stripped too. These cars are a lot of fun at the hp lbs you are targeting - you ought to have a blast with it Quote:

That’s likely what we would end up doing though.

I'm not sure what your anticipated lap times are, but I suspect you will have no trouble beating me with a purpose-built race car. You'd just have stiff competition from ThunderMoose and XCUSE_M3.

Cams & headers are in and the cars is in prime dyno tuning trim
Going to mount our Aim MXG in place of the oem instrument cluster - but a full steering wheel blocks out a lot of info including the shift lights. Will at M-Technik has adapted an OMP ALU GT flat steering wheel to the KMP setup we have been running. Buttons are for comms, power button, MDM, and adding another for DSC. Will typically be running DSC off - but wanted the power & MDM controls within quick access just in case ever need to get the to them out on track. The wheel was designed to run a dash mounted in the center of the wheel but works very well in this setup too - absolutely love how it turned out. Wraps - yeah, don't think I will ever take this on again... I tried my hand at it mainly as a time saver so we didn't have to give the car up for a few days right now getting ready for the next race. I have learned a couple of things as I have progressed through this experience. (1) did I mention I will never, ever do this again? And (2) best practice would probably be to have at least one person helping you... Not wanting to pull anyone away from putting the car back together I have been working on the wrap by myself. After nearly driving myself insane with frustration from wrinkles, bubbles, and freaking vinyl folding up a bit after the backing is removed and then sticking together in one very nice piece of abstract art and ruining the piece - in a stroke of genius I decided I'm going to piece it together. Yes you can see lines all over where the pieces overlap, yes you can see wrinkles, yes you can see bubbles... but you know what I really do not care at this point. I'm really going to use that 50ft rule to the full extent...

I salute you for trying to wrap it yourself. From what several professionals have told me, there is a lot of nuance to it, especially for each car. You need to know the specific tricks for a given body panel.

Really like the wheel - bit smaller than the targa (310 vs 330) which I like. Also how my buddy mounted the paddles puts them in a better position for me. Quote:
Ha yeah appreciate it - but I wouldn't wish that upon anyone!

Well here we go again - our version of Shop Rescue! Actually its in great shape, just needs a bit of polish here & there. The previous owner was big in the forced induction, miata, & racing worlds and set this place up great - I am very thankful & fortunate that he agreed to sell it to me. Plenty of shop space with electrical & air drops all over the place. Some office space too which can definitely make use of. Even a bit of a paint booth as well. Really looking forward to putting our touches on the building - just as excited as I am about the cars. Going to share a bit as it progresses - plan to do most of the work ourselves as I have a couple of really good friends that are going to help me Hopefully it turns out better than my wrap experience though

The way I look at it one should always be preparing your wife for stuff like this no matter if you think its going to happen or not - that's like pre-engagement appropriate material right there

So far so good with the cams & headers. First dyno pulls today -
Think there is a bit more left in it too. Still need to get the tune sorted out & some more when we get our intake on it. Also got on the scales today. This was sans carbon fiber hood & doors, polycarbonate windows, & the boat anchor that is the oem trunk - so I expect about another 80lbs in full race trim. Plus the driver - who isn't keeping up his end of the bargain on the weight shedding program Balance is a little wonky still. The trunk should help bring some weight bias more towards the rear. Also we still have the oil & trans coolers in the oem location - when we move them to the rear that should help as well. All in all being sub 3k (or very close to it) with decent balance looks attainable. Going to start testing on Friday, very ready to get back out on the track.

Not sure if we can get there - but sure going to give it a good shot. Think once we finish off the rest of the build we should be close though. Then we can concentrate on setup and getting everything dialed in finally - never been out there more than once with the same build as the time before.

Fantastic stuff! Congrats on the shop! Can't wait to see how the build out goes. Looks like you got plenty of space to cause some real trouble!

Still working through the tuning - been a bit of a struggle...
Ha thanks! I forgot to tell you about the private runway right by the new shop. I'm sure we will never, ever, sneak on to that
