Banned for life from Autogeek forum
This is what I said:
Re: For All You Rupes Lovers vs Flex Quote Originally Posted by don40vette Many of you will admit that the Rupes stalls but there are just as many that say it outperforms the Flex 3401 and even others that say it does better than a rotary. Lets put the Rupes vs Flex in a car on a drag strip. The Rupes stalling has no chance. I see it the same in polishing. Cry away Rupes lovers. This will be great. This was how Mike Phillips responded: We don't allow this type of behavior on this forum. I was just getting ready to leave here for Orlando for MTE tomorrow when 2-3 e-mails came through reporting you and your comments. Consider yourself in time-out.... My time out, I am banned forever. For saying "CRY AWAY RUPES LOVERS" WOW!!! Good thing I didnt cuss or worse. I'd be facing the firing squad. And no, I have never had an issue before with the forum. I guess over at Autogeek if you dont claim how great something is that they sell you get kicked out. Hell, I didnt even get a chance to beg for forgiveness and promise I will ever say another negative thing about Rupes again. Besides the fact that I have spent thousands of dollars on their site. |

Maybe it's time to use civil discourse, provide objective evidence, and let people decide for themselves instead of using pejorative rhetoric.

Seems like a total troll post? I'd ban you too.
Edit: I take that back, I assumed you created a thread saying this lol. Bit of a troll post, but definitely not ban worthy.

Two brands of random orbit polishers. I've used both. Both are nice. In my experience the Rupes shreds pads, even their own, faster than the Flex.

Actually my whole point of me posting this thread was to let those that are on Autogeek forum that I was banned for saying "Cry away Rupes Lovers".
Be very careful what you say cause you could hurt peoples feelings that could end up like me. Very similar to your comment to me. I could cry to the moderator here that you hurt my feelings and maybe that person bans you for life. Whining? Nope. Just a heads ups. |

The flex isnt an orbital last i checked?
OP, are you bashing or supporting the rupes? Couldnt tell from your post. I wanna upgrade from my old 7424xp but i couldnt get the hang of using a rotary. Kind of perfer a dual orbital. |

The Rupes is great. OP likes the Flex more bc it won't stop rotating like many other DA orbitals do when it hits a curved panel. In my opinion I love the Rupes with the washer mod installed far more than the flex. The flex is a real beast of a machine and can take a lot out of you. The Rupes is much more smooth and you can do it one handed. Smoothness and ease of handling is very important for me since I can get fatigued pretty easily! And with proper technique, washer mod and pad sizes you won't stall out with the Rupes. I'm sure a big guy can easily handle the flex though and I know it has its place

The thing I don't like about the Rupes is that it eats pads for lunch. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but even their own pads don't last very long. Other brand pads are gone (torn) in one use.

Call me old school but I have used both and still prefer my direct drive Makita 9227C. 3M Perfect It pads while not cheap last hell along time and do a great job from full blown paint correction to a quick glaze before waxing.
Of course I still use Liquid Glass.... on my wheels. Still have yet to find anything that protects and shines clear coat wheels better! To the OP, Take a page from the Movie Bronx Tale "$20", your better off and got away cheap.
