Powersteering Tank Upgrade?

Hey guys what Power Steering tank upgrade are you guys running?
I'm tired of the OEM one pissing through the cap after some spirited driving.
What's the most cost-effective one out there? I've upgraded my DCT to the CSF cooler, thinking of getting the power steering rad upgrade also.

Thanks!

I went with the bimmerworld one, not sure if it’s the best option but seemed like people have good results

We install a lot of the Bimmerworld ones and they're a good alternative to stock. A little bit of a pita to install, but worth it.

Isn’t there an updated PN or a part from another model that is PnP, cheap, and better? I forget now, will look it up again and report back.
If it’s minimal overflow, you can also just get a reservoir sock (sweatband) and wrap the cap.

^ Yup that's it. Think it's shared with some F-chassis cars as well.

Cheap, OEM, PnP, seems to solve the issue.

Thanks guys, I've ordered the 1M tank and going to modify it to fit PNP.

it's already been proven that the 1M version won't remedy the problem

Sooo the bimmerworld PS res is the cheapest/best option to fix the problem? About to start tracking my car and really don't want PS fluid all over the place...

If you’re tracking your car the fluid will overflow without a bimmerworld or similar tank, on the street the 1M tank won’t look like shit in your engine bay from the dirt and dust that collects on it when it does vent.

I’m running the 1M tank in my car and I ran The tail of the dragon and blue ridge parkway pretty hard and the fluid stayed inside the tank.

There is another solution to the problem - replace the power steering cooler. The problem with the fluid overflowing is because it is overheating. If you update the cooler, it should not have the overflow issue. CSF has a upgraded powersteering cooler:

Also to note, I run the 1M tank with a do88 ps cooler.

A lot of the install pics of the 1M reservoir use one adapter which is incorrect. The larger port is the supply and the smaller port on the reservoir is the return which is under pressure. It's the same relationship as the stock M3 reservoir. If only one adapter is used, the higher pressure return fluid will be sent through the supply port and shot up (at high rpm) at the inside of the reservoir cap which causes a little bit of fluid leakage. I run a 1M reservoir with the hoses on the correct ports and a do88 power steering cooler with zero issues.

Here are before and after pics of the 1M the reservoir hooked up incorrectly and the correctly:

https://www.m3post.com/forums/showpo...0&postcount=60

Notice the turbulent fluid at idle with the hoses reversed versus the calm fluid with the hoses correctly installed.

I had fittment issues with the CSF power steering cooler I bought. I returned it and bought a do88. The do88 had no fitment issues and was noticeably larger than the CSF. If you haven't bought an upgraded power steering cooler yet, might as well go with the biggest one you can source that meets your install requirements.

The do88 ps cooler is good, it fits well and you don’t get the fluid expansion coming out of the tank.

I have the CSF PS cooler and still get fluid spray. I heard bimmerworld tank fixes it. Heard it from a fastboi.
