dealer playing hardball, advice

So found a nice 2009 M3 with DCT, options I want and a few extra options I could live without for $72500.
Dealer basically wants full price, and low ball offer of $19000 on my 2006
330i. That was initial offer, second offer with sales manager maybe an extra grand for my car and maybe $1000 off M3. This is with 2.9% for 5 years.

sales tells me M3's are hot and selling but forgets about the left over 2008 cab for $66000, about $13000 off MSRP. (nice one for anyone looking for 6Spd MT, black, grey interior).

Advice please, ditch the dealer, make my own hard ball offer or wait her out.

My advice is nothing. If they are willing to deal on the car they will call you in the next couple of days. Don't make an offer, don't do anything.

You should go to a different dealer, they're crazy.

Different dealer. Tony Sakkis @ Momentum SW in Houston will get you a MUCH better deal.

Ditch the dealer. This is BS. Or go there and offer $300 over invoice. Bring a copy of the BMW wholesale invoice prices available in the sticky above. Make sure to tell them you prefer to stay local, but you will shop the deal unless they don't insult you and show you that they are a serious seller. Make sure to tell them that you have plenty of BMW club friends who got near invoice.

Call and get a better quote from a competing dealer. Give your first dealer a "beat this or lose the sale" call. My initial dealer wouldn't budge, but the second did when I told him I'd fly to Cali and love my drive back on the Pacific Coastal Highway with a cheaper M3. (He didn't match Cali prices, but close enough for me)

Strongly recommend you contact one of the board sponsors, like Adrian Avila at adriansbmw@gmail.com. Sell your 330i to CarMax or a local sale, take delivery of the M3 at the Performance Center in Spartanburg, SC, enjoy a nice leisure drive back to TX
Note: Overall you will probably get a better deal than continuing to screw around with your local CA

If the car is on the lot then invoice is all you should offer. If he bites, then but it and sell the 330i to a private party. A good deal on the M3 is useless if he rips you off on the trade-in.

Hardball

For some reason Texas(Houston/Austin mainly) dealers are very difficult to negotiate with....we do not get the awesome deals that people list here(specially the ones from California....)

I thought this was true. Apparently, I was wrong. I posted on Bimmerfest, but probably didn't here, that I got my 09 M3 Coupe below invoice, local, in Houston. I posted the CA's name earlier in the thread. Suffice to say, $500 over invoice for an ordered 09 M3 is easily doable IN HOUSTON. I'm pretty sure that's as good a deal as any in California.

Feel free to PM for details, advice, CA name and #, and my name if you want to give it to him.

So, all you Houston/Texas people who think you have to go to California, it's a nice road trip, but you don't have to.

Dang DaFool!!! I wished I had gotten this info 2 months ago. I had a very tough time in Houston. I had to order one from Austin to get a decent deal and hopefully I will be able to pick it up next week.

Is it cheaper if you decide to take delivery at the Performance Center in South Carolina?

I always laugh at threads like this. "Dealer playing hardball" LOL, kind of an oxymoron in the current economic environment.

Please don't go back to this dealer. They had their chance. Buy from someone who is willing to treat you like a customer...not a sucker. There are plenty out there. Just do a little research.
