Arrow Are Dealer Service Records Shared with Other BMW Dealers?

Say I go to dealer A for service, and they notice that I have an engine mod. And after 2 months, my engine malfunctions and I go to dealer B (with the mod removed). Will B know that I had the engine mod because A knows?

Yes, they are. The complete service history is available to all of the dealerships. If they make an entry about something they discovered then it will be visible to others. But who knows if they'll make a note of it or not.

If it has been entered into the dealers database they can find out. They will ask who did your previous services to make sure you have been keeping up service warranty.

If you change the ecu and you blow the engine and you swap back to the original firmware they can tell. Just turn on the ignition open the ECU housing and poor a glass of water over it, fry it. Dry completely and ring up BMW and tell them your car just stoped with a bang.

Not the correct thing to do but neither is swaping out the ECU.

Haha thanks for the suggestion! I will keep it in mind if I ever get an engine mod and blow my engine
