USB Flash Drive issue

I have the comfort key option on my E90. I've read that the 2 keys should be alternated so that the battery stays charged.

I've been using an 8GB USB flash drive in the car for music for over a month. Today I started using the 2nd key and the car wouldn't read the USB drive. I switch back to the original key and it works - even brings up the last song I was listening to. Switch back to the 2nd key and it won't read it.

Any ideas?

If you have comfort access the battery is not rechargeable it is however replaceable.

I assume that with the 2nd key runing the car you've unplugged the USB flash drive and plugged it back in? If yes, then the only thing that is likely to work sure-fire is to change the label (name) of the USB device and plug it back in. After doing this the 1st key will not likely read the USB until the name is changed again

you may need to go into to idrive settings for the key programmable functions and make sure both keys are set up the same. comfort access is a nice feature, but you still have to enable the features that you want. i normally tell people with comfort access to set all there settings and lock the vehicle with the remote (not comfort access) the way they want those settings to stay with and the key being used. this will normally resolve the issue you.
