LCD Performance Steering Wheel Parts V1 Control Unit and Harness
I didn't get any help from e90post so I'm reaching out to m3post. I recently bought a LCD performance steering wheel from a member on the forum. The wheel came off from his car that he recently just sold to a dealer and did not remove the Control Module out of the car. I bought it thinking hoping it’ll be easy to obtain the parts but turned out they don’t manufacture the parts anymore. Also, the V2 module can not be bought on its own. I’m guessing that I’m not the first to have this issue and was hoping there’s a solution out there. The wheel came with a coil spring cartridge, but I’m missing the Retrofit Cable, Control Unit, 2-pin socket casing, and a Miniature connector. The part numbers are 61120444598-harness and 61350444602-control unit. Would anyone know where to buy these? I tried tisher and ordered it but the inventory is showing "0". So I'm not quite sure how thats going to turn out. Thanks everyone in advance.

Same thing happened to me when I turned in my 335i. My SA said to buy replacement modules would be $1800, which is more than the wheel?!? Luckily I spotted my old car in the car wash at the dealership and quickly grabbed the wires before the new owner drove off with them.

Any updates to this topic? Was looking at buying a wheel without the harness/control module but I'm not really interested in using it as a paperweight....

This is an old thread, but I can definitely tell you that individual components of the V1 wheel are discontinued & no longer available, or in stock...
So if you bought a wheel that did not come with all necessary, you are SOL

I have a complete V1 wheel with all the associated parts if anyone needs parts. I know this thread is old, but it wasn't me that bumped it.

The 12 pin contact that goes to the cartridge should be 61136954518.
....but does anyone know the PN for the 12-pin connector that goes into the control module?

Thanks for the PN for the plug I'll post the # for the one that goes into the control module when I have it.
I also just bought a v2 wheel with not module or harness. But the module is available might be different then the v1 but the harness is not. So I'm going to make a harness the clock spring is the same as an e70 x5 so if I don't find a cheap used one I'll order a new one. |
