Happy with my M3, it's fast enough for me, loud enough, comfortable, and still very low miles. I like a lot of cars but can't see myself trading the M3 anytime soon.

Although I actually don't really like the look of porsche's and almost feel they are a bit cliche, it looks like that is probably the only option left if one wants a new car that has a high spinning NA motor in a true drivers car. Like a lot of M owners, I will be getting a new porsche next year. Will definetly add the new m3 in a few years as well because I am not a total NA die-hard but always need one in my stable to drive. And needless to say I will be hanging on to the e92 m3 as I simply will never ever find a v8 revving to 8500 rpms in my lifetime new from the factor so mine was brand new, oil changes every 5k, sparks every 10k-motor has been taken care of and will be a keeper!

The M3 is a great multi-purpose car and I don't want to track her since she's new. As I've started my own company in less than 6 months, I don't have the luxury of going to the track either.

So I basically bought myself a Ducati Monster 696...

Although I just got my E93 M a couple months ago and am STILL completely in love with it. But I always have my eye on the Aston Martin Vantage convertible. It's a ridiculous car - expensive to maintain and not anywhere near as fast as the M. I'm not sure how long it'll be till I buy one, but it's going to happen.

I love my m3 and other cars I own but after yesterday, it's hard to think of anything but that sexy 458 motor! I had a gracious buddy who let me drive his Ferrari around town and on some twisties!

I've driven 360, 430's, Lambo's but this new F-car is one amazing machine. In sport Auto mode, the shifts are seamless like a S-class. Put the suspension on Bumpy and everything feels so cush I can drive it around town to go get eggs if needed

We then switched it to RACE mode and adjusted the suspension and OMG OMG, that engine wants to rev so badly and my friend told me to watch the speedometer, it goes from 30 to 100 in a blink of an eye!

The motor sound is to dye for btw, forget drone or aftermarket exhausts, this thing just "sings" in any gear!

Back to reality, I probably won't be able to buy one of these till ur kids hit college but it can't hurt to dream. Amazing car when you read up on it, but even more amazing when you drive it on real roads!

here's a snap shot:

I've had my 04 M3 for a little over 9 years now, and I've loved it every day, but with the direction BMW is heading in, I don't think I could call myself a future M owner.

I'm currently looking at GT-R's and 991's. Logically, it'd be the GT-R, but I'm falling more and more in love with the looks of the 991 and what not. So we'll see! I'm so glad I didn't buy the E92 M3, doing so has given me a wealth of possibilities for my next car.

I've had a few e46 m3's and quite honestly you are doing yourself a disservice but not trying the e92 m3 before upgrading....while the e46 m3 is a great car for it's time, the e92 chassis is everything the e46 needed in terms of more power and better motor/chassis.

991 Porsche is light years ahead of the 997 car, so it's an awesome car but be warned it does not come cheaply....add a few options and you are in R8 territory which to me is not good value.

The GTR is a neat car too but cannot be compared to an M3 in anyway. It's neither an upgrade or a competitor IMO to the M3. Performance cannot be argued which is the main draw for "most" buyers but you see equally TONS of GTR's being sold within a few thousand miles of ownership. Reason can be anything but it's safe to presume most do not buy the car for it's purpose and the GTR is not a great daily driver as most find out unlike the M3.

I tried the E92 M3! Granted, I wasn't able to push it very hard (was my friend's car and it was still being broken in) but it felt SO heavy. And of course, this is in comparison to the E46 M3. And as amazing as the V8 was, it wasn't a screamer like the straight 6 in my E46 (which I've grown to absolutely love). The S65 itself is a masterpiece and it does sound amazing, but it just isn't my taste. I was also very put off by the interior of the Bangle era BMW's, they were the epitome of boring. It wasn't ugly, but it was boring as hell. The E9X M3 was an amazing car, but my tastes sort of evolved and I just wasn't too giddy about the E92.

I know the 991 and GT-R aren't competitors to the M3, but they are amazing in their own right. I'm looking at GT-R's because I saw one in person a few months back and instantly fell in love with it. After doing some research, I've found that the GT-R is a very capable daily driver that can be comfy with the right set of tyres. And the 991 speaks for itself, albeit you are right about the price. Perhaps a used one maybe? We'll see.

But I really wish I didn't have to make that choice. And maybe - I won't! If the M4 turns out to be an amazing car in every aspect, then I might just get it. Time will tell I suppose.
