and the blue striped one?
..just setup the special on our site for pre-order as well! BMW currently shows an ETA in Germany of 7/4/2011 - so we should start seeing them a couple weeks after that. (this could change - but we won't charge anyone's cards until they are actually in and shipping out!)

OEM BMW M Performance Steering Wheel (pre-order)

OEM BMW M Performance Steering Wheel (fits all E9x M3's and E82 1M's). Sporty steering wheel made from Alcantara based on the M3 sports steering wheel. The diameter and cross-section are identical to the M3 standard steering wheel. Steering wheel rim flattened at the bottom, 3-color M seam and motorsports blue central marking in fulled nappa leather. Alcantara over the entire steering wheel rim offers an excellent grip in extreme driving situations. Attractive design with flattened steering wheel rim and central marking at the 12 o'clock position for that racing sports feel. *Your stock M3 steering wheel multifunction trim, airbag, and dct paddles (if applicable) transfer over. **Vehicles with heated steering wheel function will have this function disabled. ***Price includes Free Ground Shipping (US only). ****Shipping to Canada is a 50.00 flatrate.

On special in our BMW Performance Catalog here!!!

Not a lot of mark-up for us to work with - plus we are shipping at no charge.

Damn... I think I'll be spending more money on the car soon.
I changed (actually tlp did 90% of the work) the wheel out on my E36 M3 and it was awesome.

I always thought that the performance steering wheel's been out for some time now. Is this the new version or something? I mean, I know that the "M-Performance" steering wheel is new but I thought the electronic version of the "Performance" steering wheel has been out for awhile already. I'm confused...

^^^correct, just a refreshed new wheel with some new features and a new design (electrical display version)

the non electrical versions are also refreshed. Just like anything BMW needs to keep coming up with new designs and technologies

I was the other one that ordered from Evan @ GetBMWParts.com. Finally received mine today after a UPS shipping issue that caused a 2 week delay where it traveled around the US before making it to my doorstep.

Not sure when I'll get to install it but I'll be sure to update everyone once I do.

Pics for now:

What's everyone's experience with how alcantara holds up on a steering wheel?

As usual, it gets pretty worn out.
I had one in my E46M3 (ZCP) and now in my E90M3 (Performance 1st LED version). They're same. Even if I wash my hands, try to to sweat, but after certain miles, it just wear out and get shiny.
I really wish they make leather only version.

^^do they make any sort of cleaner or conditioner that helps slow the wear down?
