So this means that we'll have to drill into our headlight housing?
NO - No drilling and NO modifications. These will remain 100% plug and play.

Thanks for the updates, Marc. I'll check and see if mine fall within the "affected" ones.

Definitely, will be going for the repair, and not the refund - I can't think of what else I would order that would give this level of performance, and ease of use.

How will these be 100% plug and play if the power supply needs to be mounted externally? How will the wire from the external power supply box feed into the headlight housing if there is no drilling? Will the headlight housing cover/lid need to be drilled?

Also, NAM should step up for us North American, I mean Canadian customers who paid extra for shipping and duties, and should pre-pay our shipping as well.

I posted this in one of the other threads, there are about 5 different threads all the exact same to keep up with, so its hard i apologize. The covers have a soft rubber ring around them that will allow for the wires to pass through.

I will have pictures to explain it all better, i will be getting them this weekend.

Marc, could you at least make it worth our while and add another LED to each light to make them brighter during the day?

I don't know why everyone is getting worked up over this. Angel iBrights are mounted externally as well with no modifications to the headlight housing at all. If anything, I am glad that NA Motorsports and mds82 are stepping up and fixing the issue rather than letting these go as is and repairing them on a as needed basis. Out of the 500 only 2 have had issues and maybe this recall isn't even needed but it's a good to know the vendor is taking care of their customers in preventing any (if any) failures. Just my 2 cents.

P.S. I will be going with the repair option as I think these are the brightest LED option out there (besides the OSS version). I had AiBs and Lux blows them out of the water.

Got an email from Dave from Nam....

"There will be revised installation instructions available. We estimate that the turn around will be about a week not including shipping."

Can somebody in general summarize which batch this recall affects. Maybe with approximate purchase dates. Is it only the newest batch? Original release batch? Sometime in between? The fact that it mounts entirely inside the housing was a big draw to this because I don't want something hanging outside the housing. Being all contained in the housing makes it still appear stock as well as keeps the elements away from the power supply. With the power supply being moved, it turns into pretty much the same thing as any other product out there with just a bit more brightness.

If the LUX unit has 4 LED's on it, and it has a Silver label on the power supply, it is subject to this recall.

The power supply can actually be hidden, so its really nothing too much to worry about

Thanks so much for understanding and saying something positive about this, i think its the first bit of good news i've heard so far.

Yes I read that part but I won't be able to pull it out and look at it right away. If there was a production date that you pinpointed down to and I bought mine around that date, it would be nice to know. I recall mine did have 4 LEDs on it but I did not notice or remember the color of the label so I'm going to have to pull out the power supply and/or lamps to be able to figure that out.

Hey Marc, I removed mine and they have 4 LED's and a silver lable with red stripes on the top and bottom of the lable. The number on it says 1010, so I guess mine are affected??

mds82,

Why can't you use the older power supplies that aren't affected by the recall for all future shipments of the LUX H8 so that you can retain the ability to tuck them away inside the housing?

Per the recall letter, Yes.... yours fits the exact description.

Mine are still in the original box that it was shipped in and they said it's recalled.

Okay, this is something I don't understand. Another member I know who has the 6500K LUX, who just got his last week, has a power supply box that reads 1014. Mine that I got about a month ago, also a pair of 6500K LUX, says 1010. What's the difference? Are they both 6500K? Are there any differences between his and my power supply?
