CCA Spring Driving School
Anybody planning on going and, more importantly, considering the Club Racing School? Sounds a lot more interesting to me. Would be fun if others would try it as well.

You guys know that RMCBMW is only accepting 25 applicants for the racing school right? It is primarily for driving instructors and experienced group A students. It sounds like a lot of fun but I think I am just going to sign up for the Saturday driving school and CCC again. I am actually seriously considering doing the whole Autocross thing this year too.

I'm taking the E36. Husband won't let me track the E90 anymore So I put a plate on the E36 that reads: FSTRNHM. Revenge is sweet...

I've been toying with the idea of getting my comp license this year anyway (through NASA) and I've heard nothing but great things about this particular program. I figure even if the license doesn't transfer to other sactioning bodies, it'll be a great learning experience and shit-ton-o-fun.

I'm in for the Club Racing School as well. See you there. I will probably sign up for PCA - RMR "SPEED FEVER III" @ HPR on Saturday Apr 21 too.

F*ck! Saturday is sold out already. I wasn't paying attention to when signups opened. I'll have to jump in on Sunday but would have preferred Saturday if not both days.

Ok, I'm in for Sunday. Will anyone have a tire temp probe there on Sunday?
The Saturday spots were sold out within a week. I'm glad there's so much interest in the club driving school but there were 22 spots taken by non BMW cars. 20 If you don't count the Minis. Considering it's a BMWCCA event, should some priority be given to club members and BMWs? Maybe wait a while to open it up to other cars? Isn't that what the Z club or Porsche club do?

Odd, all I get is:
"The table below shows the list of those registered for this event including students, instructors and volunteers. No entries are listed - this may be because the organizer has disabled this feature or there are no registrations yet. List updated every 15 minutes."

That's what it said before I signed up so I'm assuming you're not signed up yet or signed up for the racing school event. That or something's just wrong with the site.

Must be that I am signed up for the club racing one. Should be interesting to see how they divide the sessions.

There were plenty of non BMWs at both of the last two driving schools I attended. Everyone was great to drive with and very friendly. I just looked back at last years spring driving school attendee list and there were 18 non BMWs if you exclude the instructors.
I just went and looked at the list for this spring on Saturday and it's actually 21 if you exclude instructors. I'm just wondering aloud here. If the club's priority is to just get cars on the track, that's fine. Considering the popularity of this event, I think it's worth debating whether the BMW drivers and club members should be allowed some preference. There will definitely be a few disappointed BMW drivers come May.

I'll be interested in seeing what run group I'm in too. When I signed up I could only select A, C and D. Last spring was my first track event. I ran D on Sat and C on Sun and then got placed in B in the fall school. I selected A for this event. We'll see how it shakes out.

Who's doing free inspections? Are all the shops listed on the info page doing them free? That's the impression I'm getting.
