M Technic Steering Wheel

I just bought my first E92 M3. The previous owner's records show that he had installed the digital display M Perf steering wheel about 500 miles ago. Thing is, I really don't like it. The lights are distracting, and I don't like how alcantara feels in my hands.

My E39 M5 had the M Technic steering wheel and I thought it's absolutely perfect for me. Before I roll the dice on eBay, does anybody know of a reputable US shop that sells these?

I already looked at Turner but would rather not pay almost $800 - Wondering if there is a store like Coby Wheel who does remanufactured stuff?

Thanks!

Coby will do a wheel for you,

just buy a standard e92 sport wheel and have it recovered in leather.

Unfortunately, Coby cannot do this. Already asked, and they only do alcantara for the E92.

Do you have a DCT or 6MT?

For the re-wrapping part.... (not necessarily buying a wheel itself)

Look up Redline Goods. I've never used them for BMW stuff (I used Coby Wheel for alcantara), but I remember them from the subaru forums. Looks like they also do BMW wheels. They offer all kinds of leather options if you are not into alcantara.

If I was getting a custom wheel I would go to Nelson racing.

You can always get a used stock wheel and diy wrap it for cheap.

Thanks for the pointers, everyone! Car is a 6MT

Turns out there is lots of interest in the M Perf digital wheel, so I might just purchase the one I want and then sell the current one to a member.

Update - Ended up ordering a refurbished wheel from gs-specialties on eBay. They take used wheels and wrap them in the perforated leather that I like. Will update on it when it finally gets to me from Poland or wherever.

Those wheels look great! I'm going to reach out to them and see if they can do a full leather (non-perforated) with flat bottom and red stripe. Will look good and last longer over alcantara.

That's a good idea. I think you should be able to get it. IIRC, all their listings had a small message saying that you can get in touch if you want any custom work.

Just prepare for really long lead times. Mine looks like it will take about a month from placing an order to receiving it at my door, and it wasn't even a special order. They already had it in stock.
